Which do you prefere as having taken a 2 year contract out again recently and changing from Apple to Samsung I feel that it was the worst thing I've done in a long time, I can't get on with it, so folks how do you like yours? X |

If you are within 14 days of taking out the contract then you should have a “cooling off” period. Get in touch with the company you got the phone from and see if you can switch back to Apple if you’re not getting on with the Samsung |

Only applies if you bought it online or on phone I’m afraid, but otherwise yeah, you have 14 days to change your mind.
Personally I like iPhones but in all honesty I’ve never tried anything else. The new s9 has a great camera on it mind and some cool new functions |

I've got a Sony Xperia atm, and there are some features I like, but I think the build quality is poor compared to Samsung
In 6 months the case is scratched, metal coatings written down and the camera is so badly scratched is basically useless.
In contrast my last Samsung (galaxy a5) was like a bomb, and was in excellent nick when I came to upgrade it |

HTC all the way.
I dropped mine down the loo. Dried it out and still works.
My son dropped his iPhone in the snow and its dead as a dodo!!
I'm on my 3rd in the last 6 years. When I upgrade again, will be another one. Plus I've dropped them countless times. |

I have a J5 at the moment and can't wait to get rid of it.
It just keeps filling up the memory and doesn't allow all the apps to be transferred to the SD card slowing everything down.
I'm still a huge Samsung lover tho as I also have a J3 for work that has been dropped, run over, in water, and In mud and is still going strong !
Thinking of having a new one in a few months time so hoping the memory issues have been sorted now. |

On your J5 try installing AppMgr 111 (that is if you haven't done so) its been very useful when transferring apps from being internal to the SD card. |

"Couldn't go wrong with the old Nokia lol or motoroller "
As someone mentioned Google pixel or Motorola for me. Stock android, no add-ons.
I personally would not pay the money for an iPhone, and I have that money. No I am not stingy lol. My phone is 3 years old now, yes 3 years, and it does everything I need it to do. But that's me. Between iPhone or Samsung is a personal preference. Otherwise comparing apples to oranges They are round but taste different among other things lol |

Would go for Samsung every time over apple. Thought a lot about changing but still decided to get Galaxy S8 last summer. I also have two Galaxy S2's that I use for travel sims and for my fab sim - both android systems still work really well. |

HTC android here, changed in 2012 to them and loved them ever since. Robust, reasonable battery life, and does everything I need.
Haven't bought a new phone in years, now buy mine 2nd hand and trade in the old one, get an "mot" of sorts on it and then if it is wank you can go back and get a refund or change it within 30 days! |

"I do have experience of the iPhone, had one now for about 6 years (work issue), currently on an iPhone 6s, and its shit."
I've got an SE as a works phone, and I can only agree with you.
I wish I had my blackberry back, and that's saying something |

When people say "I went from Apple to Android, or from Android to Apple and regret it" it's almost always just because a few icons are different or in different places, or because are slightly different.
They are all fundamentally the same. It's just about familiarity.
It's a bit like changing from a BMW to a Merc and not liking it because the heater control is in a different place.
I've had Apple and Android and I have to say Samsung / Android is by some distance the better option. The S9 looks like a brutal piece of kit.
Apple are unfortunately playing catch up and have been some distance behind for a few years. |

In keeping with the thread, I’ve got both a Samsung and an apple. One for work and one personal. Been with Apple since the 3 series (through various models) and also had a Samsung for 18 months. I hate the Samsung and will be changing the work phone to Apple as soon as I can.
For the record I’m not one of the ones who will sell my kidneys to keep up with the latest Apple iPhone but once you’ve had an Apple, Android just doesn’t cut it |

We have had IPhones since the Nokia days and we have got used to them. We also have a Samsung and only use it in our swinging life. We prefer the iPhone but probably because we are more used to them ! |

I'm with 3 and upgraded from my old Nokia to Android with a Huawei smartphone. On Christmas Eve they sent an 'update' and the phone completely crashed.
I took it to the 3 mobile shop and they said it had happened to lots of people; they sent it off for repair and the company responded saying it was water damaged and they couldn't repair it. I would have to buy a new phone. It had been nowhere near water until the shop sent it off !
I'm back on my old Nokia. |

Why would anyone not want an Apple, they slow down your phone, stop you customisong the interface stop you using not priority cables and devices after an update, most of the apps you have to pay for, and they have security issues coming out of their ears over the last six months
Android / Google do none of the above
By the way I love Apple |
