Newport / Cardiff advice needed!
Jump to: Newest in thread
I am due to start a new job in Newport (Kingsway area) in Feb and am currently living in Cardiff.
Does anyone know of any cheaper long stay car parks in the vicinity?
Also does anyone know where I can catch a bus from Cardiff to Newport?
Any help would be much appreciated as when it comes to Newport I am completely clueless! |

Cardiff Bus run a 30 route from Cardiff to Newport. Goes from city centre along Newport Road. So depends where you are living, where you can catch it from.
Or train from Cardiff Centre to Newport. It is only 1 stop |

That's brilliant thank you - I'm on Colchester Ave so Newport Road is easy. I know a few routes to Newport had stopped.
I'd get the train but it's a 30 min walk to get there and then back so I'm trying to find easiest and cheapest option haha! |

also take a look at travelline as you can plan routes on it,you just put your postcode in top box and your destination in bottom box and it gives you your routes and times of buses/trains |

Your best bet would be to get a bus into the city centre (as you live so close to town) and take the train from the central to Newport. This only takes ten minutes. Traffic is horrendous on the M4 during rush hour, and will probably take you at least twice as long. Will probs work out a bit more expensive, but far, far, less stressful than taking the car |

She doesn't need to use the M4 from where she is. Straight along Newport Road, which changes into Cardiff Road when you hit Newport. It is near enough a straight road. |

But then she will have 2 sets of road works to contend with which which will make her journey longer. Road works by blooms garden centre and tradegar roundabout adds on about 30 minutes to your journey |

Getting along Newport Road and up past Llanrumney can be a nightmare during rush hour! The young lady could be in Newport via bus and train the length of time it takes to get up to and past the roundabout at St Mellons
