Here! |
I sometimes take quite long breaks from fab. I dont leave the site, but i just observe and read status' and browse the forums.
Then I realise that lots of people I have met or been to socials with or just chatted with on here have gone.
Then it feels really hard to get back into the fold, as it were!
Don't get me wrong I still enjoy and have some fun!
Am I alone in this feeling? |

Nope, we feel it too & At times it's hard to keep some of the friendships alive because real life gets in the way. I try my best by arranging mini socials, going to some of the larger events & popping into Chams Occasionally. That works for me/us on a social level but for us as a swinging couple there isn't much fun to be had on this site anymore, clubs & other sites work better for us. You just have to keep at it & find what works for now, swinging is an ever changing scene X |

Yes many of our friends who were great to play with have had life's obstacles get in the way to stop them playing.
They sometimes come back after a while .
its a bit like popping to the local pub if you don't go for a while when you go back you are a bit of an outsider to most.
we just tend to have small parties now . |

Before the Internet sites were popular for swinging there were contact mags from there you sometimes were invited to yahoo groups after being vetted.
Their purpose was to let everyone know when the next party was and where. most took their turns organizing a party.
A much easier and less time wasting way to enjoy the lifestyle. |

When I was younger there was no Internet, there was a few clubs , they used to call them country clubs or the gentlemans club, but you had to be in the know to get in them, ones I can remember going to wear in Rugby clubs or social clubs and the good old Legion clubs, all the ones that wanted to play mainly couples, they would put there house keys in a bag and at the end of the night you would pick them out which ever female picked yours out that is who you went home with |

We have seen a change in the site population over the past few years. Less couples and more singles seem to be the natural progression these days. We have left and returned a few times so we understand what the op means. To us, couples seem less interested in meeting but prefer trying to make themselves look sarcastic in the forums instead which, makes us question why they are here.
Also, fab has become mainstream and acceptable for single people which has its good and bad points. The site population is changing, wether that is a good thing or a bad thing for couples only time will tell.
Fabcouples anyone?

I remember those days a long long time ago when Chameleons was a once monthly event in the back room of somewhere. But we used to go & make links & the whole scene was much slower due to everything being postal, oh how things have changed X |
