Who’s worse? Men or women?
Just spotted another status commenting on body shape/size/direction.
Do these people think they are above critique?!
Drives me potty! |

I think there's little difference there to be honest.
There will always be people from both ends that, for some reason, feel the need to denigrate others for they way they look.
I've often found these people to be shallow, narcissistic and not as confident about themselves as they tend to lead on....
Shaming can sometimes be a way of projecting their own insecurities onto other people. That, or they're mean spirited and do it for plain spite. |

I thinking can be 50/50 but some seem to do it when they've spat their dummy out on here. One minute you can be drop dead gorgeous in their eyes, knock em back cause they aren't your type, low and behold you an ugly fat bitch or words to that effect.
Agree with above post about I securities too |

Never had any abuse for knocking someone back, but some have acted up a bit
Never seen any body shaming statuses mind, but I only see women and couples statuses, so couldn't give a correct perspective |

I have seen the odd one on a few couples profiles so hard to say whether it be the male or the female posting the status. I have seen a few female posts about fat women on here too.
But you could be right about the perspective.
I'd like to say that it's not all men obviously that react this way just the ones that have entitlement issues |

I am yet to hear a man body shaming another man also..
I have seen many a status where men have commented generally about women on here..
I do feel men are more inclined to put women down more so than women putting other women down.. but maybe that is just me.. Maybe, it is due to what i can see in my feed and it's limitations ..

Just looked through the statuses on my news feed ( can only see females and couples ) and it's
50% boring stuff that belongs on Facebook
20% women looking for cock
10% single men pretending to be in a couple saying Mrs away come play with me
10% women moaning that men are wankers
10% women saying how great men are ( e.g. There last meet )
Percentages may not be 100% accurate
Would be good to know what men's statuses are like out of curiosity |

Mostly statuses like;
I need a fuck.
Who wants to fuck.
I need to empty my balls.
Someone suck my cock.
Looking for a man to suck my cock (discret).
And such like....
A few moaners about being blocked and not being replied to also.
I personally don’t mind “Facebook statuses” as you put them. You can learn a lot about a person from how they express themselves. I’d much rather read about something interesting than “empty my balls”.
But each to their own. |

"I can’t say I’ve ever seen or heard a man talk about another mans body in a negative way on fab? Wracking my brains now!"
We've had it from guy's, usually the male half of couples when we've said no. |

You'll always get it whenever you knock someone back...
I've had it whenever I've said no thank you to a bi or gay guy;
And also when I've declined someone from a social
But that's not really body shaming, but just bitchiness
The only time I've seen it in the forums is in the "Look at me and my big cock" threads |

I get a lot more body shaming comments since losing weight
Female work colleagues in particular feel the need to call me a skinny bitch etc, despite me bwing far from skinny. Seemingly meant in jest but it is mainly from overweight women who eat badly and don't exercise because they "can't be arsed". They never said anything about my shape when I was overweight.
"Where have your tits gone?" is one I have had a few times too, although this is a bit of a standing joke for me amongst friends.
Exactly the same place as my second chin went now fuck off |

i think the whole issue just proves that when there is genuine chemistry the superficial never really matters.
i have a lady i have met recently (though not through fab) who over the last few months we have seen just about every horrible / flabby / wobbly / scarred bit of flesh we both own...
from nearly every angle... and neither of us give a flying fuck...
the sort of people who might point out someone is a bit larger than they think is perfect or show a bit of wear...
are often the same sorts of cunts who would given half the chance be trying to shag them like a rat up a drain pipe
and what they really want is ability to be comfortable with thier own body and thier given partners..
they arnt so they throw stones..
jealousy is a bitch ... haters gonna hate |

"jealousy is a bitch ... haters gonna hate"
and thankfully the lovers still love.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there is someone for everyone on and off fab.
People with unkind words show how ugly they are inside...be that publicly or privately shaming bodies, reputations or personal preferences.
You just have to feel sorry for the sadness they feel within themselves to have to say such hurtful things to others...be kind, you dont know what other people are going through xxx |

"Just stupidity
Shame that these people are not being suspended and being warned "
Sometimes it's those who shout loudest at the injustice of a situation, that are the worst offenders.
They wrap their insults in eloquence in private message and pass it off as humour...then claim it's misunderstood.
But you don't know what those people are going through. So be kind. Always x

Thankfully we haven't personally been at the end of any abuse.
We are fairly happy with the way we look so if we did get abuse we'd just laugh it off, report and block, it wouldn't affect our day one bit.
If anyone has turned someone down and then received abuse we'd say you'd had a lucky escape. |

I'm very lucky to have met wonderful people on fab, and had the freedom to express myself, giving play partners the same freedoms, because honesty is shared and embraced.
Some however see a good verification as a stamp of ownership, when it's meant as a certification that the receivee is genuine, giving a short confirmation of their good points.
Be nice to people and people are generally nice to you. |

I have had abuse when I have been on here before from men and women.
I don't even block and report as I'm so thick skinned I really don't care.
At the end of the day its just some very sad individual sat behind a keyboard who has nothing better to do.
I have enough to stress about in the real world to worry about comments made to me on the wonderful world of Fab. |

The one occasion I’ve let it get to me and cried, I was called an attention seeker and it gets shoved in my face on the forums that I cried once, at one social... randomly some guy even approached me at a recent social and said “you always cry”.. wtf?! Why comment on others when you know nothing about them or indeed why they are upset?!
If I saw someone upset, I’d try to comfort them, not ridicule them and gossip! Bizarre attitude to have.

Is it, in peoples experience, always as a kneejerk response from a narrowminded idiot who can't deal with a knock back, or are there examples of a "f'kin state of you" message left in an inbox out of the blue?
There's pleanty of ways to be told 'no thanks' (as I've learned ), from a polite reply, to being ignored, having a message deleted without reply, or just plain blocked; but none of these warrant making an unjustified or personal attack on something that can't be changed at any rate.
Enough comments on here sum it up already; says more about that individual than yourself. Live and let live FFS, life's too short. |

My personal view...I think there is a sliding scale of those who have no idea they are being offensive to those who comment to cause intentional offence.
Having come across all on the scale, comments can be hurtful whatever the intention.

Only bullies body shame in my opinion! No need to put anyone else down whether there's physical attraction or not. You can't be everyones cup of tea at the end of the day but being nasty says a lot more about them than the people they choose to slag off. Life is too short and we would't give bullies like that the time of day. Far too much fun to be had out there with awsome people than to be concerned over shallow arseholes xx |

I reckon the person giving the comment whether in "jest" is doing it for the own insecurity
Either in the wild saying things in front of others to be like the in guy/girl or because they are unsure and not confident within themselves
I've been fit in the past due to serving and doing some form of exercise at least once a day
Now I'm down to atleast once a week
But I appreciate people and different body shapes sizes and the effort people put in to reach their goals
Even the body builder in your gym is there because he's not happy about his body |

I concur, there is no need for rudeness in real or fab life. I'm sure many of us have been on the receiving end of such behaviour and it can have long lasting effects, as much as we try to say it doesnt bother us, that we have skin like rhinos and that we can just ignore the haters.
Compassion for an unknown circumstance is always the way to go in my book. |

Facebook has given me access to some the shit that women throw at each other.
There was a coven of these fucking wretched women slagging off Cheryl Ty recently… "fat" "looks like a pig"!
Ty looked stunning!
After checking out their FB pics, It was amazing to see his unattached from reality they all were… and how hurtful.

" I’m not sure if it’s a British thing, we seem to have a reputation for finding fault rather than bigging people up. It’s somehow easier to insult, than to compliment, for some people. |

Personally I feel that's worse than someone referring to someone's weight large or thin you would lmao "
Well I'm happy in my own skin, and as I don't insult others appearances I'm happy with my morals also |

"No difference in my experience X true. I guess I expect it from men.
Do men body shame other men?
They sure do... and often. "Oi fatboy!" "Oi baldie!" "Oi bignose!" None of these are rare unfortunately and can be heard frequently.
It's the builder on the scaffolding scenario!
Whoa some of our builders are quite professional you know - how dare you LOL
Oops unconscious biased not intended!!
Lol wolf whistle at you lol
Hey I'll take unadulterated sexualisation of my body at most oppirtunities
Because you love it or because you're worth it "
Because I realise I'm no Cheryl Ty or even a Debbie McGee! I appreciate if people see something they like in me.
There's always something good to see in someone, whats that saying (I love a good saying me ) ... good people do bad things and bad people do good things.

Women are worse and can be very cruel. Men are more self conscious now at days with their body's, times have changed more men are now paranoid than women. |

"Facebook has given me access to some the shit that women throw at each other.
There was a coven of these fucking wretched women slagging off Cheryl Ty recently… "fat" "looks like a pig"!
Ty looked stunning!
After checking out their FB pics, It was amazing to see his unattached from reality they all were… and how hurtful.
"
You only need to look at comments on the Daily Mail website to see how addicted many people are to slagging off people... "She's fat!", "Well I think she's ugly!", "OMG, what does she look like?" etc. |

Ignore. It's an insight into the persons personality, if they can't take polite rejection and have to bite back.
Everyone's been turned down at some point in their life, and i'm sure we've all turned some down.....it's just best to be polite about it.
As for bitchiness 50/50 male/female. |

"Who’s worse? Men or women?
Just spotted another status commenting on body shape/size/direction.
Do these people think they are above critique?!
Drives me potty! "
I saw a status on here today from a man saying "why do women say curvy when they really mean fat". I thinks thats disgusting and degrading to women and put my own status saying "the female form is beautiful in all shapes and sizes". The guy clearly won't get anywhere on here, which is ratified by the fact he's been on here ages and hasn't had any success |
