Our first and last visit to Chameleons last night, the overpowering stench of cannabis was every where, which made us feel quite ill. This combined with the juvenile prima donna behaviour of some of the younger clientele was disturbing to say the least. |

We were there last night and it did smell of cannabis, could smell it downstairs it was that strong...it don't bother us so didn't complain but of anyone would have then it would have been dealt with by staff. What behaviour did you experience? Didn't see anything our of ordinary really? We must have missed it.

It smelt strongly of cannabis upstairs last week but we just avoided. There's always a lot of people in that area so we don't get why it's not seen & reported. Makes us feel ill as well, just another reason why I rarely venture past the ground floor nowadays X |

That's really a shame. Please say you reported it?
I've been many times and have never come across it. If it was reported then it should have been dealt with.

We personally didn't report it as we didn't see the point there was a member of staff in the smoking area having a cigarette whilst they were smoking it and rolling them |

If this gets public it will give the police and local authority justification to close the club. Bad news for the club and genuine swingers in South Wales.
Think I will avoid the place for a while. Don't want to be there if police raid it. |

It was dealt with and the person was banned, They will not be attending the venue again. The two girls work very hard and cannot watch everything that is going on,so please help them by reporting these incidents to them in future and help make there job easier. |

"Wow I've been going for 7 years and not once smelled any cannabis.
D*unk people are my bugbear though. "
Cariad, I hate to say this, but the person smoking said substance was there the night you were there last. He was smoking it in the smoking room, and the place reeked of it. You could waft it at times coming up the stairs, as at one stage he was right by the corridor. A member of staff was in the smoking room at one stage, and although said smoker was not there, the smell of the substance was still heavy in the air.

The 2 girls do work hard to keep us safe and happy and keep the unwanted out, it is a big place for 2 wonderfull hard working staff to be every where, so i say this to all like wise happy ppl, if u do see any thing u r not happy with or some one smoking some thing they shouldnt be or just to ask them to keep an eye on some one, do it, if they dont know they cant deal with it,this club is for all of us lets keep it that way and be happy
But it sounds as if a member of staff was present whilst the pot was being smoked...
I'm surprised there hasn't been a comment from the management on this thread "
They probably dont know yet x |

We're going to Chams in Darlaston today. If the owner is around we'll mention it to him.
We've been twice to Newport in the past and on both occasions had bad experiences.
its a place I'd never go back to again. |

"We were not there on the night concerned but are regulars at chams Newport and whenever we have had any problems and reported them to staff they have been dealt with promptly
Mrs"
I beg to differ.
Back in October 2011, I attended Chams with two single females. Whilst in the jacuzzi one of the females towels fell on the floor and became soaked. Therefore I went to the bar and obtained a new one for her. Whilst I was at the bar, BOTH were groped by a male, under the water. We reported this to the manageress. On leaving the club we were assured that he was banned, and would definitely not be allowed back in.
Needless to say, come Christmas, he was back in the club! All that the powers that be who run Chams, are interested in, is making as much money as possible.
It's just a huge pity that there isn't another swingers club in South Wales. |

Absolutely spot on.
One contributor on this thread is guilty of it, we have seen it enough times and reporting it is a little pointless when a member of staff is in the smoking area whilst it's taking place.
It's a crying shame as the club has the potential to be an amazing club but until it cleans up it's act ourselves and many others won't be returning any time soon. |

Im all for sorting those who r ruining our place of fun, but all this talk about avoiding it till then could damage things even more, im sure with in a cpl of days the management will know whats going on and do their best to sort things out, lets keep going and not let a mindless few ruin it for the rest of us. |

For too long the club has suffered from low numbers.
Now the numbers rise, the more varied the people who attend.
Yes, I agree the staff are amazing and make the time to make sure your having a great time.
However, if people are taking or smoking substances it should be a quiet word first and then an outright ban not tolerate it and hope nobody complains.
I've been to both clubs and can honestly say that Newport is way more relaxed in the rules than darleston.
You have to also feel for the two female staff who just can't be everywhere pleasing everyone.
We were going to go this week but now I doubt we will be making the effort. Every time we have been as of late it's been d*unken people who have had way too much to drink and single males who think they have the right to do what they want in the club.
We would much rather travel vast distances and attend clubs we know we can have an amazing evening.
I'm so gutted for Newport as we have had some amazing mind blowing experiences there and it's got the potential to put many other clubs to shame...sadly at this time no |

As a former pub/club manager
People who have had a few spliffs are very unlikely to cause trouble when compared to drinkers and those using class A drugs
At the same time, if you don't tell the venue/staff when you have the issue how can they resolve it ?

So you are saying it is acceptable to smoke drugs in a public venue and especially when people are swinging and naked...?...personally your morals are wrong and it is illegal...!!..what people do in private is their concern and problem....Smoking drugs will get the venue shut down full stop..... |

Sadly people use moral justification to get outraged at users whilst ignoring the billions of users of the most destructive hard drug in history. Personally I'd rather keep company with a stoner than a boozer if we need to start judging people. Him. |

Except alcohol isn't illegal and will not get the club shut down.
Reading most comments on this thread it seems the staff at Chams Newport need looking at. Alcohol abuse and drugs are dealt with swiftly in Darlaston. |

I don't give a fuck what people do but like it or not it is an illegal drug. That's the law and venues have to follow laws |

Allowing a premises to be used for drugs is a serious criminal offence. It is enough to close not just the Newport club but could put Darlaston at risk also. So to the users. Well done for giving local authorities the reason to close the clubs . |

I understand all too well the law. If morals hadn't been brought into the equation I wouldn't have said anything. Just because someone uses or does demonise users of a drug does not bring their morals into question. If it did then every drinker would be of dubious moral character. The law is the guide here not moral values. |

We only started going at the beginning of the year and it's the first time we noticed it, it was very strong. What people do in their own time is up to them but Chams is not the place.
The girls do a great job to try and sort problems out and it can't be an easy task. Hopefully it won't happen again x |

As mentioned before, one member of staff has been sat in the smoking room on more than one occasion when we have been there when this has happened a little pointless really. |
