Port Talbot

Port Talbot is fucking brilliant ! Not only is the beach amazing, but the mountains with their dense woodlands are fabulous. In the spring they are carpets of bluebells and in the autumn rich with hazelnuts. Our rivers are filled with trout, and our beloved, rusted, Heath-Robinson looking steelworks smashes its way on into the future. We have Roman milestones, ruined medieval churches, the chopping block where the town charter was hidden when Cromwell was here (he beheaded the portreeve of Afan), we have anecdotes of our people passed on orally since the 18th century. We are a fucking magical place.

I totally agree with you, add to that the fascinating industrial history & I reckon its truly awesome. I live next to the steelworks & I still find them amazing. Not fussed on all the black stuff though
