I love anything by Mark Billingham and Michael Connelly. Read and re-read Catrin Colliers books ( set in and around Pontypridd, Tonypandy and Swansea) . Currently reading book 3 of GoT but finding it so hard.
Also true crime stories especially Jack the Ripper. |

"night angel trilogy by Brent Weeks
Seconded... the Black Prism series is pretty awesome too"
I've actually been eyeing that series for a while, I may have to treat myself on payday ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I'm currently slogging through the hobbit in French but I love the English version. That and the book thief it's set in ww2 from death's perspective but much less morbid than it sounds. |

For a bit of light relief, try something from any of the following..
Tom Sharpe,
Tom Sheppard,
Tom Holt.. (erm, yes, I see it too lol)
or, if you want perfection in rib-tickling, the the obvious is Pratchett. ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

"I still enjoy re-reading the dark tower series by Stephen King.
I love Stephen king but have yet to tackle those books "
Dark Tower is currently being made into a film/series of films. Might be worth a watch.
Also, women seem to like Idris Elba and he's the main character ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Robin hobbs books are brilliant if you like a bit of fantasy. Bought one in The Works, loved it, then realised there's about another 5 in the series but loved them all.
Day of the triffids is a fantastic book too.
The twelve caesers by seutonius sounds stuffy but it's a chapter on each caeser telling all the warts and gossip. |
