why do people feel the need to lie all the time when you no 100% it's totally bull

We got accused of being fake and lying a few weeks ago by a couple whos name i wont put but they had 157 meets notched on there bedpost so we offered the couple to come round our house to see what makes our meets awkward and meet the reason were sometimes on line if we have people here for a meet, rather than take us up on the offer they blocked us lol
