It depends, do you know the recipient and think they would be good parent(s), how would you feel about the child, would you want to be a part of its life, acting like an uncle or father figure, or have nothing to do with it depending on its parents wishes. Would you be ok with the child coming to you one day, asking about its lineage?
Do you or your family have any history of inherited medical or psychological issues that might effect them?
Me, I couldn't sire a child without assuming some or all responsibility for them, so I would have to be certain that the child would be in a good environment, and if something happened to that environment that I would have some means of protecting them.
All I can suggest is that you talk to the person asking for your donation, assuming it is a person and not an organisation, and ask what they expect, and see if you feel comfortable with it. |
