Evening All,
Trying to find out what everyone's take on Champagne brands are, I've tried a few and very much like Bollinger. Are there any others I should check out.
Thanks Ray |

Each has its own qualities and even the same brand will taste different for each year which is classed as a vintage (vintage means the grapes have all come from the same year to produce that particular champagne, hence it will have a year date on the label and usually have a slightly darker colour than a non vintage).
Personally, I think Moet & Chandon's normal bottle is overrated, the popular one for brand recognition alone and far too dry and lacking flavor. However, the pink version is completely different (the rosé). That's worth a try!
Others worth considering are the Tattinger, Veuve Clicquot and Laurent Perrier. I haven't tried all brands though, but a few supermarket ones were surprisingly tasty.
A good time to buy is Valentine's and Christmas, when supermarket discounts can be very competitive, plus a 6 bottle deal usually gets additional discount automatically deducted at Tesco and others. The 6 or more bottles can be a mixture of wine, champagne, sparkling wine, Cava, Martini and even Asti Spumante, so a cheap option to get the discount.
Having said all of this, I'm not really a champagne drinker. A glass is enough, any more is a migraine for me. No, not a hangover, there's a big difference. My ex's favourite drink is Champagne. We had it everywhere, different brands, as a special occasion or just with fish and chips on a Tuesday night, once. We only bought it at discounted prices and I saved the corks from every one and the bottles from each brand. I much prefer a glass of water nowadays. LOL.

We seem to have dumped Champagne. ..
LambrusCo all the way..
Although Cava with a little blackcurrant liqueur went down well with one friend
Other friends go posh and have Prosecco...
In the good ole days I used to drink Dom Perignon by the pint and smoke Monte Christo cigars.. |

"Verve every time"
Exactly this, won't go much wrong with this for a champagne under £40 in a shop that's easily available.
But everybody's palate is different - you can buy single serve bottles of most of the readily available ones to try, have a look online. |

"Only ever drank champagne once, thought it was heavily overrated, I can think of much better things to do with 30 quid than buy a bottle of that."
That sounds cheap for bottle of champagne |

"All tastes like vinegar to me
I totally agree with this, all wine, red, white, sparkling, rose, no matter what, all tastes like vinegar.
"
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that, think we will get on just fine
