Hi guys. We're looking at investing in a hot tub. Playtime will be limited due to teenagers at home so that's not the main reason for us buying it. Are they worth buying or are they one of those things that get forgotten about after a few weeks? Cheers guys |

"I would love to get one
A friend of mine just got a lazy boy then had her partner build a wooded surround for it "
Sounds lovely. We're just after a bit of advice. I really want one but Weiser is the sensible one who wants to know the pros and cons lol x |

I know a few people who have them and love them to start with
Then the novelty of having one seems to wear off
I can't think of the cons
The pros well endless
I would just use it for myself |

We got one beginning of last year. Got rid by the summer.our electric bill doubled as it was constantly on for the filter to keep the water clean and it got used once a week if it was lucky and that was by andy. I used it 3 times the entire time we had it x |

That's what weisers worried about. It's an expensive item if your not going to get full use out of it. Thanks for the advice xxx |

Having owned two very big units whilst we agree with ALL that is said about their "life style" value there are FOUR very real cons . . 1) The cost in electricity bills as they need to be kept running - albeit at a slightly lower temp ALL the time, 2) high servicing costs, especially if you need to replace any main part, 3) a really low re-sale value which could be as low as 10% if you decide it's not for you BUT 4) . . and this is the worst . . shagging in one is actually quite hard and, for the woman, can feel uncomfortably rough enough to leaver her sore!
Sorry. |

We have had one for years, its all about how much you use it, we go in ours nearly every day so get the use out of it. I do all the repairs and maintenance, but modern ones are really reliable. the past post about extra curricular activity is true but we have found that because most lube both natural and additional gets washed away silicone based lube works a treat and lasts very well in the water - it adds a new dimension and means the fun doesn't have to stop |

"We're having one installed next Monday, we have had one of the inflatable ones for a coup,e of years to see how much we would use it cannot wait for the real one to be installed"
That seems like a good way to do it |

That seems to be a sensible way to do it. I think we're going to do a bit more research into it as it's an expensive garden ornament if you don't use it that often. Cheers guys xx |

We have an inflatable hot tub. It's great, you put it up when you want to use it. We have ours in the garage, so we use it at all times of the year. But it's away when not in use. Yes it does use a lot of electric but it's not in use all the time, we think it well worth it xx |

I have an inflatable one and the kids are in there everyday! I find it much cheaper to 3/4 fill it with hot water and the remainder with cold. I don't leave the heater on overnite so the next day it takes about 2/3 to get to 40c. It is one of the best items I've ever purchased. |

We've had one for a year now, we love it, so do nieces/nephews and our boy! If you keep it on, works out about 50 pence a day with electric and chemicals. It's worth buying the best you can afford, lower running costs, better insulation and a longer warranty. |

Hi,
We have had a hot tub for three years.
The best thing we ever bought, ours is a 5 person size and cost £4,000.
It costs about £30 a month to keep it at 38 degrees.
We use it every day.
As long as you shower before using the tub maintenance is minimal (chemicals and filters)
As for play, gentle stroking is fine but full sex is not very good, as the water washes away the female's natural lubrication and she can get very sore.
Before buying a tub try to use a friends or even a commercial club that has one.
Good luck.

We bought a lazy boy inflatable in the January sales, because I'm a skinflint haha, but really I didn't want to spend a few grand only to find out we didn't get our use out of it,
We still use it 4 or 5 times a week, so we've had our use out of it tenfold, to a bit of dicking about to get temperature and chemicals sorted, but running great now, we also bought a black gazebo to go over it, keeps the rain off your head plus keeps it more private from nosey neighbours, for two people it's perfect, four people you have to sit upright, unless it's fab friends, then who cares,
We can highly recommend one if your not sure about forking out loads of money. xxx |

We managed to get 6 friends in ours luckily they were indeed fab friends and it was exceedingly crowded he he. We tended to only use ours at the weekend as we didn't leave it on during the week meaning it took about 10 hours to get to temp on a Saturday. I have to say I was tempted to just stay with it but in the end we decided we wanted something with more space for more people some music and lights. But it definitely satisfied the will we use it worry. I'd always suggest trying one before going all the way now ! As a side note I wish there was a referral program I think about 60% of meets that we've had in it have ended up getting their own |

Apart from my pets, my hot tub was the best thing I've ever bought. It's amazing to be able to sit outside and enjoy the garden, whatever the weather and to converse with people, instead of what most people do, sit in front of the TV.
I would throughly recommend one |

They are good fun. had ours about 5/6 yrs holes 5 friends and prob 6/7 fab friends, we leave ours on but don't but don't use much if honest well over the winter. it was set to 40'c summer a little cooler in the day when the sun is hot. its nice as a cool tub then turn it up as the sun drops |

"On Tesco Direct there is one called a Vegas, very cheap and holds 6 easily, very easy to setup too and goes on offer now and again."
I found the Vegas for £300
Miami is £250 in the range |

Had one for a few years now, wouldn't be without it. Fantastic when joins are sore from over doing it, total relaxation. Running costs around £1/day, as far a chemicals well there are various systems, started with bromine but struggled to get stable levels, now using a chlorine system that's great.
Sex in the tub is fun, very good aerobic work out lol.
Best bit is icy cold night in winter with crystal clear sky watching the shooting stars and satellites pass over. Getting out when tub is at 38C and air temp is zero is bracing. Get it and enjoy it at every chance you get |
