I've been talking to a guy for a while now all going great ..finally agreed to meet when he asks the question "do u have a cat"...thought slightly odd but went with it...told him I did and he went bezerek ...saying I should put on my profile that I have a cat as he's allergic ...I would have thought it was his place to ask right off the bat as it's his allergy not mine ...thoughts please.xx |

It's definitely up to him to check if there's anything which could trigger his allergies. How many profiles have you read that mention owning a cat anyway?
I have 2, or 3 cats, depending on how you view the 3rd cat who spends most of his time here, if he's not with his official owners in the next street. If I'm chatting with anyone, the cats don't usually get included in a flirty conversation, that would be silly!
I'd say it's his responsibility to enquire about potential allergy triggers. Otherwise, a law would be passed so that all businesses with a cat on the premises has to be declared to potential visitors by stating it in their adverts and on a sign outside.

If you've a severe allergy it's probably worth putting it on your profile isn't it? Then people will know it could be a problem. If you like someone you can always meet somewhere that doesn't have those allergens. |
