Thinking of having the coil as my implant is playing up.
Women; experiences? Good and bad.
Men; I've been told that you can feel them during foreplay and sex, is this true? If so, does it put you off?
Any feedback/opinions welcome. Thanks! |

Depends on pain threshold,it's painful and uncomfortable being inserted and would suggest an ibuprofen beforehand. It can cause some issues with infrequent bleeding but should calm down. Hope this doesn't scare you but in long run it can be great xx |

Thanks for the advice.
My implant is causing that.. tho its getting less "infrequent" which is why I am hoping to change it. |

I've had one about a year now. Very painful insertion ...no kids lol. Took a few months but settled right down periods virtually non existent most months. HD has never said he feels it and things get very deep and vigorous |

Can't be more painful than childbirth so I think i'd take it over the alternative lol. |

Mirena coil was the best thing I ever did. Haven't had any periods at all and when I did have them they were light x |

Hi
I have the copper coil and it's great. Second one fitted but I did have pain on insertion and I have had two kids. Works for us though.
Husband only ever felt it once after a very heavy all night session and the strings do tickle so ask for them to be cut short.
Otherwise I am very happy with mine |

I guess everyone will have different experiences . I've had my implant for over 5 years and never had so much as spotting. Never tried a coil as always heard bad things. |

I've used mirena coil for 8 years as it virtually stops my periods and no weight gain which is great.
Insertion is bearable and I don't have a high pain threshold.
Cons: it has turned me into an emotional mess so I'm going to see about different options
Back pain has increased but can be dealt with.
Big dicks do knock mine which is very painful but they say this is because I'm quite 'shallow' down there, before the coil though never had an issue with size

I've heard bad things about them all
Injection makes a lot of people gain weight
I don't like how the cool actually works but most never actually read up about them
I have the mini pill which I take everyday and I don't have periods
I am on list to be sterilised but considering whether to go for it or not as quite a few people have said they had problems after
The problem with the coils in my opinion is I know several people who had them and had loads of problems but doctors didn't want to remove them
Just weigh up all the options first
Everyone is different it might suit you it might not x |

I had the mirena coil. Found it the best contraceptive for me and i had no problems with it. The pain inserting it was quite bad, apart from that i was happy.
Had to have it removed for other reasons but i'd be happy ro recommend using one. |

My ex wife's lasted 4 months. It was always awkward with catching it.
Final straw was it coming out during sex..
I was glad to see it go. But at the time we felt it was badly fitted.
I'd definitely try one. Nothing to lose.
Xx Tony
I'll check its fitted OK if you want lol

I have had the coil twice. The first time no problem at all and stopped all my periods. The second time, major bleeding problems over a 6 month period resulting in me having to have it taken out as my body didn't accept it so well the second time |

I had major issues with my coil, had to have it removed within 6 months. . I would never ever recommend one to anyone . . My aunt had one that travelled and caused damage . .
Not a fan of them sorry . .

I had the copper coil and my bf used to be able to feel it during sex. They don't recommend you having them unless you have had children.
The first one I had put in was so painful (before kids), it had to be taken out within 2 weeks. It had bent inside me and caused me horrific pain.
I had it again after kids but it made me periods more painful and heavy.I have the implant now but even that has caused me trouble
You can always try it as it may work for you. |

What put me off was the nurse telling me the coil has to be inserted during a period. Would have looked like someone had been massacred!!!
Now, thanks to the joys of chemotherapy, I no longer have the contraceptive problem |

Iv had a coil as it was last resort since the age of 26 and have no kids. Wonder if this is why it hurt so God damn much, having it out soon to be replaced but can't face it yet as it hurts alot

I had the copper coil. I had it taken out after 8 months as my body was rejecting it. I have spoken to so many women who it does suit, the mirena in particular. You just wont know until you try it, everyone is different. Try it and find out and then by process of elimination you can find what does suit you. xxxx |
