question for you....

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

After visiting a numerous number of clubs I find it quiet un nerving that a few clubs (not all clubs)do not ask for identification to go into their club.

I for one want to go to a club and be in safe hands so to speak and know my safety is paramount to the club in which I am attending.

Surely it is not hard to get the people attending to bring some form of identification with them?

So my question to you is

Would you be put off going to a club knowing that the staff haven't asked for any form of identification???

Or wouldn't it both you???

Being a devils advocate - what form of identification would you be expecting and what would it prove?

I find it a little more worrying when I see people with phones on them in clubs..not really worried about the Id bit as I would think every club has cameras on the door and/or the paying desk.

Just my opinion of course.

Think phones should be kept in lockers and your driving licence or other photo id required if you're not a member

I'd rather not enter a club which might be playing fast and loose with people's security

We had to show our passports when we became members at Xtasia`s, as I don`t have a photo driving licence, and Mrs welsh don`t drive... so no problems for us proving who we are on that score.

But then what about when people have couples cards and take others in on them

If there was trouble they still wouldn't know who was there

I have known of females and males who have taken others in on their cards

Do they stop and think of people's safety if it's someone they.are meeting for the first time and taking in ?

So are we ever really safe ?

I've done this - taken a different plus one and been a different plus one to the woman on a guy's card. Guilty. I've rung the club to check first. I never feel unsafe in clubs though. People have always been very respectful towards me x

I didn't mean people would not be respectful but

When you become a member you fill out a form name address ect

When you go in the club with the card they write the number on your card down

If say for example trouble kicked off they would be looking for person who has signed up with that card

Do you understand what I mean ?

When we go up there , we both have to sign in, hopefully they will check our signitures, and if they don`t match we will get an email off them to say there was a problem....

I'm with Giggles on this one. I think that every person entering a club should have to show valid photo ID.

It would put a stop to people signing non members in on couples cards and everyone would know that the club staff were aware of exactly who was in their premises.

What I do think would help lessen this happening though is if the clubs had a more equitable pricing policy that didn't flaunt equality laws. X

If that happened I wonder what effect it would have on the club invasions as I know that single do join together just for the discounted rates

I myself think that the clubs should be fair and equal with the pricing structure

Yes totally see your point. I only go to clubs with sound people that I know, but that's beside the point. You are right.

Also agree about the pricing inequality against men - it's ridiculous and counterproductive. Chams in Newport is dead now as a result of silly prices for single men X

Yeah I agree the price males pay is ridiculous

No wonder some get a little too hands on or slightly pushy at times

Not that it excuses there behaviour

My "local" club has a good policy on single guys that really works.

Single guys are invited for a social on a Wednesday evening and introduced to the club.

All details are collected then.

Has to be done to be invited to weekend events, which are mainly couples and single fems

I'm I right in saying you want even more single men going? Or lowering the price and limiting the numbers?

I reckon they could still have a ratio policy to ensure there are not too many single guys in there on any one night ... but that unfairly charging so much more for males than females should not be the way to discourage single male membership and attendance.

No I want more single men going! More choice for us chicks But sexy guys with a good attitude... Which means the club is being selective then. Don't like being selective in theory but it works in practise.

I also think single guys shouldn't have to pay silly prices.

Also, I've been to two couples only nights in two clubs and the atmosphere was a bit flat. Extra singles - male or female seem to make the atmosphere a bit more fun.

I agree with this. Last couple of times I've been to chams there has been a serious lack of single men cause they can't afford the price for a single male and I can't quite blame them for not paying. Other clubs charge half of what is expected in Chams.

Not quite sure how they can be selective as everyone has different preferences. Can't just let all the muscle buffs in or the old ones etc if you get what I'm saying. But a ratio is definitely key

You're right about the prices, they put many a single guy off, and that's why you get people swapping out on couples cards, or guys desperate to get a plus one.

The attitude that you often get with this is enough to put many off.

It isn't right

It's not a question of don't go then.

It's when you are told to bring Id to have entry into a club and then not even asked to see it.

As for couples cards being used for different people then don't do it.

As for club invasions it doesn't really affect them as we either get everyone to sign up as a couple or they sign up for their own membership which they need id to do.

Also the singles social when we do chams after I do tell everyone they will not gain acess if they don't have Id in the form of driving licence or passport
