£17,000 annual food bill????
Jump to: Newest in thread
There's a family (mum, dad and 3 kids) on a program on tv right now who spend over £330 a WEEK on food!!!
They eat a lot of convenience foods, and the program team reckon they could save them UP TO £100 a week.
As a family of 4, all adults, our monthly bill is mostly less than what their weekly bill is, and we eat quite well!!!
How the hell can you spend an adults salary on food ffs?

"Gready twats must be "
Not at all, mum is overweight but not huge, kids are quiet "normal", dads a firefighter.
I just don't get how they spend so much, if we spent their weekly amount on food, our chest freezer, fridge, and cupboards would be rammed and we wouldn't need to shop for two months, apart from fresh stuff. |

I've been watching this program and i have to be honest it opened my eyes to how lazy I've become when shopping, I used to go for the easy option on a lot of products which in turn ups my food bill but watching this has got me to make a few changes which wasn't really that hard to do when I think about it. I saved myself on average 30 a week which is a big help it also frees up money for other stuff, I think a lot more people could learn from this program when it comes to saving money |

Our best investment was a chest freezer, we can buy a lot in one go to chuck in there, we make a lot of extra when we make spaghetti Bolognese, curries, casseroles etc and freeze the leftovers in portions, saves us a fortune. |

I tend to write a list and do my shopping online. That way I.am not tempted to go for things that I do not need and crap food. I also buy all my veggies and stuff which is helpful. Being single I probably spent about 30 a week as I bulk cook for myself too and most bags of veggies etc will do me 2 to 3 meals. Xx |
