Firstly this isn't meant in any other way than an observation???
I read the forum most days, and although some topics are brainless or just dull, they are still important to the person who wrongly or rightly wanted to post and hope for an answer???
BUT,,,, then the take over happens!!
It's always the same people, they invade the post and either then start talking between themselves and patting each other on the back and the false laughs and thumbs up off the males!!
It's just got to the point of silly??
If you don't agree or don't like then just ignore!!!
Please stop the take over!!!! I'm sure you know who you are

And to me we come on to have a laugh
There are days when I'm pissed off or down and I come on here and it cheers me

So can people not be friends and have a laugh together in the forums? If you look in the lounge regulars do exactly the same. And the reason for this is these people socialise together at socials clubs and parties so have the same rapport in the forums as at these places! Is it such a crime. As long as people are getting on and having fun which is the reason most are on here isn't that the main thing! |

Not sure if im classed as one of these that take over threads or a forum troll or not, however, I (lola) have only recently started regularly posting on threads after years of just reading....I find once you get involved and have a bit of banter then its a lot more fun, most people on here are friendly and it's surprising what and who you get to know from chatting on here....I have been eenjoying myself and not breaking any forum rules so wont be changing the way I have been for anyone  |

I have met some lovely people on here simply because we started off having a laugh and banter on the threads
Where as inboxing gets to much at times
It appears we aren't allowed to enjoy ourselves
Well don't take this personal
But personally I don't care unless I'm braking the forum rules I will continue to have a laugh and flirt with like minded people on here
And I don't care what you or anyone else has to say
Why not join in
You might actually that you have a laugh and enjoy yourself as well |

Is it just me or do some people not like having things pointed out?? This imperfect world has a way of biting back and making people look a bit silly, what's started quite clearly as just an observation and in no way meaning to cause upset, seems to have escalated to the point where some agree that they are doing it( by their own admission ) but again feel it is their duty to shout down any idea of wrong doing??
As a few have pointed out, please feel free to discuss any topic you like I'm all for that, and if you are all mates you shouldn't need a forum to do that with each other!! If it was a social would you sit on someone else's table and shout over them???

How do you know I don't have confidence issues for instance, like I said I have been here years and only just started posting (I haven't btw)

Speaking personally and not intended to wind anyone up, I love the forums! Yes at times some people may speak out of turn, but it's an open forum and their entitled to their views. But on the whole I find them pretty informative and a bloody good laugh it's somewhere that people with broadly similar interests can speak their minds an be themselves. 99% of the people on the Welsh forum I've never spoken to in person, but I feel comfortable posting here. I have never found it to be hostile, if anything quite the opposite |

What I do have a problem with is double standards. I've pointed out more than once that you are doing EXACTLY what you're complaining about, and you haven't addressed it or responded.
Which seems to put you into another of your own categories, that of people who don't like having things pointed out.

Well it would appear that I am the only person to agree with the OP 100%.
I was bullied and called all sorts of horrendous names last week on here. I was referred to in the third person by one poster on my own thread - "Is she taking the piss?". That was one of the least offensive comments and far worse followed. I said nothing to these people in retaliation other than leave me alone.
The one thing I didn't post last week was that when "you" were all having a go at me, I had a massive number of messages in my personal inbox from people saying "They are nasty - Ignore them - they always do this" or "Don't let them upset you" or "I think what you're suggesting is a great idea - I wish I had the confidence to post something like that on the forums" or "this is a win win situation" etc etc. None of them posted on my chain because they didn't want to feel isolated or alienated by the forum massif, and they didn't want to add fuel to the fire. I don't blame them.
Yes some of the comments and responses on the Welsh Forum are very funny, but some of the others are frankly a complete embarrassment to every single man and woman that resides in this country. It is harassment. It's snide. It's turf warfare - and the forum addicts seem to want to protect their territory by subtly trying to humiliate newcomers, people who say something that grates with the clique or those who rarely visit this place.
Carry on being who you are as individuals. Carry on having fun and cracking jokes. But before you take out your anger on your phone or keyboard next time on the forums, have a think about how you'd feel if you were sent messages like that. It's cyberbullying.

We're all guilty of it at times, to differing degrees but I do try to stop myself & will pm. Some people can go through the whole thread of almost 175 posts & not seem to notice that everyone else had opted out. At those times it becomes cringe worthy, because it's so egotistical. I was only saying the other day how much nicer it seems in these forums the last week...
The problem is, it is usually the same people who start forum threads or joins in and has a laugh.
If more people got involved, took everything said with a pinch of salt and had a laugh then they would have a lot better reaction from those that do make an effort regularly.
We are all adults and no one I believe is a bully or genuinely nasty.
I think because the regular people know how to take the banter off others it is assumed new people would too.
People are going to have opinions, and they are not always going to agree but it dont mean they are being nasty, the only time nastiness is involved is when the OP of whichever thread takes offence and starts getting defensive instead of seeing it like it is...just opinions |

I have to agree....
Whilst most days it is fun... there are times when people group together and it can appear cliquey (I'm not saying you are a clique as I get on with you all I said "appear cliquey") to new members. .unknown users etc...
Last week I did see The above lady's post looking for a club buddy and did feel she was jumped on... her morals questioned. .likening her to a prostitute...it did soon come across as bullying ...
When swingers (who are more open minded and less judgemental than normal folk) start judging other swingers we are pretty fkd
Where else can a swinger advertise for a club buddy . I just think if something isn't what you'd necessarily like/do etc there is no need to shoot another member down. .in this case it was that she would provide entry to club by way of a pass/membership etc and ideally the guy pay for room....now whilst lots on here have opinions on that ..it's merely a deal that could have worked well for two consenting adults.... cheap and easy entry for the guy..... and accommodation for the lady...winner right? ??
I seen it and thought why's everyone going crazy over that ?
I think we must all scare lots of others off the Welsh forums ....let's all just live and let live ...
I don't do pegging. ..I don't do bdsm etc but I don't mock or criticise those that do..so why don't we all accept others and whatever it is they are looking to get out of fab. .in above case..an ideal club arrangement ......

I think people who use these forums had the nous to know when a threads is serious or not.
I like banter. Sarcasm and wit are great on here.
I would probably say the reason that these same names reoccur is coz they use these forums the most.
I can understand frustration if your looking for serious coherent answers but what it boils down to is a bit of a laugh x

Apologies if anything I say has been covered already as I have not read the whole thread yet.
When you post on a public forum you leave yourself open to comment from anyone who wishes to join in with the thread. You can not dictate to others what they are and are not allowed to post whether you like what they are saying or not. It is a public forum and each poster is entitled to express their opinion whether you agree with it or not. Just because you disagree with something it doesn't make it wrong.
Unfortunately there will be people who deliberately upset the apple cart as they enjoy to provoke reaction and cause animosity. It is the nature of the beast so to speak. That being said there are also times when it is done without malice and purely because somebody has a strong opposing view and wants to offer an alternative viewpoint.
It is entirely possible to change your viewpoint on something if you are open to reasonable discussion or debate without being abusive or making personal attack. I have seen people play the victim on here whilst contradicting this by being downright nasty themselves.
The sooner people accept that it is ok to have differing opinions but it is the manner in which you express them that matters? the easier it will be to have a healthier more balanced forum. I doubt that will never happen on here though.
As far as cliques go. Same with everything else on here. You get out what you put on. If you make the effort to join in you will get to know other regular posters and might find that other people then view you as part of the hypothetical clique. My point being there isn't one unless you view regular posters (who often know each other outside of forum too) to be a clique.
You need a thick skin at times on these forums it can get a little heated but it can also be really good fun and you can learn something new everyday. You can also use it as a filter to find out more about peoples personalities which can be a useful tool.
Fab forums are not unique in the patterns they display. All forums go off topic and conversations veer off in different directions as new questions emerge in the thread. It can be steered back on track too with a bit of intervention.
My own personal views, people will only treat you how you allow them to. If you have an opinion be prepared to back it up and for it to be challenged. I try not to let words on a screen get to me too much but then I have a very thick skin and a really strong personality and I'm not afraid to express my opinion. I totally get that other people are not the same and why they might feel intimidated but we are all adults and need to be accountable for ourselves in the big bad world.
I enjoy the forums and hope that people will continue to use them and that new people will join in and feel comfortable having their say.

Now people seem scared to comment on threads in fear of being judged or called names

People as a rule will always behave the same on forums, whether it is about Ford Focus owners or fucking someones' wife  some are self moderating , others are quite heavily moderated, and will clamp down on off topic deviations etc. I'm afraid you have to take it for what it and it's participants is; it is unlikely to change, and comments about it usually only provoke more. |

Firstly I appoligise for not being around (life took over) to respond,,
From the amount discussion from people it does seem to have caused a storm,, which I hope has at least made the self elected few think about their actions and the reactions that they cause,,
The examples given in the discussion are so obviously hurtful to the individuals concerned but are still being justified but calling it humour or by deflection, justification wares off and reality then sets in, I hope this happens but I fear it won't!!!!
The original post did not mention bullying just annoyance but if the cap fits??????
Judging by the amounts of pm's I've received it appears that this subject has a lot of support with fab members, and hopefully the self elected few that are still defending their annoying actions will take notice,,

I don't often comment on the threads no on here often enough to bother that much but when I have I have noticed the odd thread that gets carried away. The kiss,fuck, pass ones seem to be the worst for it as one certain females or female of a couple comments and then it's like who can get in there first to comment after her. In a look at me look at me kind of way.
Majority of the other threads I find amusing and if things have gone off topic I just skip through till its back on track. From going in the other forums I can't see any difference between what happens in either the lounge, swingers chat, USA or Ireland. Regulars banter with other regulars. There may have been some posts commented that have been harsh, I just commented on another Welsh thread that went that way. But at the end of the day this is the Internet. Not the playground or workplace. You can only let things bully you if you let them! |
