Lush - it's ine of the best festivals out there, though it definitely has it's faults (like any). I've been to every one and going again this year.
Portmeirion village and woods is just the most amazing place for a festival, though, to be honest, I don't really enjoy the main field.
As usual, I'm not particularly bothered about most of the headliners, but love the smaller, more off beat elements of it.
I've been with friends every year, but this year it's a solo mission. I'm a hardened festival goer, but if anyone would be willing to catch up, that'd be really nice (I'm not saying this in the hope of getting some tent action, honest)! |

We go every year too and agree that the highlights are the village & woods. The main stage we rarely visit unless it's somebody really special like Beck last year.
We've become a bit soft in our old age though and now stay in a hired campervan. It may be the best festival in the world but we still need our home comforts ![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

Campervan - blooming lightweights!
Only joking, after spending about 20 odd nights camping in my little tent this summer I can see the attraction!
Yeah, Beck was great. I think it's only Grace Jones of the bigger names I'll go for. One of the good things about No6 is that it's got me back into listening to DJs, so I'll do a fair bit of that. I've loved Greg Wilson's sets there the last two years, but I don't think he's there this one.
Enjoyed the classical stuff and northern soul in the town hall last year. Also loved the stuff at the estuary - the history of black music thing was epic.
Love mooching around the woods and usually spend a couple of hours at the viewpoint watching the sunsets and taking photos!
If you see a bloke wandering aimlessly with a greying beard, glasses and a camouflage Reni hat, say hi (won't mention fab)!

Yeah we're lightweights, we admit it haha. To be honest though, K suffers from RA and 4 nights in a damp tent would be bad for her health.
We love the Joe Duddel classical bits too. I remember his set with Rae Morris at the first ever FNo6. We saw him recently at Granada TV studios performing St. Anthony with poet Mike Garry. They'll be doing at at the festival this year and it's not to be missed. Highly recommended. |

Understandable you don't do tents then - no fun with RA I imagine. Sorry for the gag.
I didn't realise Mike Garry was there again this year. Did you see him there last year? He did that poem with the ensemble playing Philip Glass music - it was stunning. Loved the Steve Reich the year before too.
Apparently when Nadine Shah played with them last year she broke down crying when the strings came in for the first time. That would have been a "moment". |

Mo offence taken
We struggled getting into the Town Hall last year, queues were massive. I have friends who work with Joe but even they couldn't get me in. Hopefully have a better chance next weekend, really want to see the Gaz Coombes collaboration. |
