So the Police want a designated area set up in Newport! Anyone else recognise where the BBC were filming their report about the idea? Just where we park for a certain Friday venue |

It's coming across as a very bad idea, i know its the oldest part of Newport and prostitution used to be rife when the docks were in its hay day, but they cleaned that up, it then moved on to the cattle market before it was asda as it was used as a lorry park. Thankfully that got sorted out. We have enough trouble in Newport as it is. |

If they made brothels legal like in Amsterdam it would keep the girls safer and maybe better looked after. I doubt you will stop all the problems like trafficking and drugs but Amsterdam has fewer problems like we do |

They do but if you go about a mile from the main square the tourist type drug trade ends and the tragic drug dealing and addictions begin, and the rough side of prostitution. Not many people see it as they don't leave the main part of the city. |

"The report I saw last night said it was to take the prostitutes away from Cardiff?? Nice!
Last I saw, ladies still working in Cardiff, just outside city centre "
On the news it sounded like some thing that is being considered to clean up Cardiff! |

Like I said I doubt you'll never eradicate all the problems until they deal with main sources high up the chain of dealers, pimps and trafficking. But helping give the prostitutes a place of business might help keep some off the streets and help with the underage problem |

We just noticed that the area of Newport they were suggesting was al around Chams/Greenhouse. Not quite sure if this would be good, bad or indifferent!
Would it put people off going and leaving their cars parked outside, or would it encourage more people in to the club .....? |

I personally think it might make people a bit more wary about visiting the club not necessarily about leaving the car but maybe about being seen in the area |

Most people go to the club and discretion is a must.
Can you imagine all the unwanted attention that area will generate?
I think personally it will know the green house and chams for 6 |

Yeah - inclined to agree Giggles. I think we should start a petition saying we Welsh swingers oppose the red light area being centred in those streets around the club and send it to the police who had the idea to start with.
Right ..... who's going to sign this petition then ............................................................... silence lol! |

"Look on the bright side , if ur a single guy and get no luck in chams , you won't have far to walk for a guaranteed leg over "
For a single bloke it'll probably be cheaper not to go into chams but just stay outside lol |

Think of the extra tax and money the government would make for the prostitutes having to declare there income etc |

I'm surprised that they haven't pushed for it sooner. Surely more revenue than fags now people are inclining to give up |

We've got clients that are 'escorts' that file tax returns. None that charge VAT yet though |
