We were gunna do a social in caerphilly but decided to wait til the summer til its warmer,, less clothing then lol,,Be like going back on old ground,,lol,, i used to do alot of socials in caerphilly,, cedartree and crossways,, we always had a great night and loads turned up, it was like a family re-union every month, great laughs had by all, even did a christmas social here in Glos and loads came, fireworks an all,
we would be more than happy to attend a social in caerphilly either at the cedartree or crossways,,but cedartree might be ya best bet..

Come on peeps we have to get this sorted instead of saying yeah we will come. but where ???
There has to be a perfect venue in Cearphilly ? Perhaps a booked function room ?
It would be worth asking advice from other who do organise social events on picking a venue and how to go about setting it up ? |

they got function rooms in goodrich and we used to have socials in wingfield (function room upstairs) before but not 100s of people but they were good but those rooms have to be paid for and people used to moan about paying a fiver, otherwise the organisers were way out of pocket. trick is to book it for saying its an anniversary or summit but still has to be paid for |

It wasn't until we stopped doing the Wingfield that people started moaning Kitten lol, but it wasn't the fact of the money there, it was the fact we was promised a private bar upstairs all night, then they didn't open it till 10 (as only one person would work it and he had another job which he didn't finish till 9), and by 12 the Landlord was pushing us out the door, we just thought that paying £28 just for the bar for 2 hours and £75 for the room was taking the piss, (bearing in mind we only had it from 8pm) so we started looking for another venue with private room for us, then the moaning started so we gave up.
We also had problems with the DJ's, we booked a few different one's and only 1 showed up leaving us extreamly red faced, on the one occation the DJ showed up, he said to me this is how you use it I'm off lol, so I was stuck behind the decks and unable to socialise (this was because of someone letting him know in no uncertain terms what we were doing there lol). |

a lot of users on this thread seem to have left the site
Instead of people asking WHO is organising a Caerphilly social why not take it upon yourselves to arrange it. |
