Truck drivers golden rule......NEVER USE A SAT NAV !!!!!

followed one once and i couldnt walk down the friggin road let alone gat an artic down there lol

There's a farmer in Wiltshire who makes a killing out of using his tractor to retrieve cars that have been driven into a ford by drivers who have put blind faith in their sat nav without thinking whether its a good idea or not.

For the record i was testing out my brothers out from a trip to North Wales on the weekend. Mostly using it for speed traps. I thought, ok, i know the way home but i'll let the sat nav take the lead.... was still buzzing from the party the night before, so in no hurry to get home.... Suffice to say it sent me not on a B or a C road but a Z road... lol

The best bit was coming across other drivers coming the other way... sat navs on their windscreens, barely squeezing past, a look of confusion & fear on their faces..... pricless!

My guess, there are a few options in the route setting, shortest = any route, fastest = major roads, of course it helps a little with which unit you have and when was the maps updated last on it...

Still overall useful.
