I had the 10 year coil fitted a few years ago.
Sadly it didn't agree with me a my periods became worse and i use to suffer terrible before having it fitted.
After almost a year i decided to pluck up the courage and go and have it change today.
So I had the 10 year one taken out and the 5 year one (think it's the marina)put in instead.
Needless to say I am glad I've had it done as it's ment to lighten or stop periods altogether
So have any of you lady's got one fitted??
Did you have to change???
Do you still have periods or have they stopped???
If this don't work for me I'm gona cry as ive never felt discomfort like that before |

Had the merina after my first child. It was great but couldnt get on with it for some reason after having my second child.
I have been having the depo-provera injection for years now and Im very happy with it. No periods ,no pains and can play whenever the mood takes me. I would highly recommend it  |

Oh no.im hoping even if I do have bleeding it will slow it down as it can't get any worse |

Had the mirena and it was awful after another 9 months of constant bleeding and pain i had it taken out and opted for the Therma choice, bleed for 3 days and not since and that was 9 years ago......Can play any time... |

I had the marina coil in for 2 years well on my 2nd one now. First of all it stopped me having irregular period and heavy ones and I mean heavy I would look like something from the film Carrie. It slowed them down made them regular and for the last 2 years my periods have just stopped. Best thing I ever had fitted x |

I've had copper IUD and after first few days of spotting I had 5 weeks of full on bleeding. I had hormonal tablets to stop bleeding which still didn't then a Withdrawl bleed (period) been good for 3 weeks now.
Was on depo injection for 3 years no problems and no periods but weight gain!
Happy to have no hormones now. |

I've got the Mirena, it took a while to settle, my periods are mega heavy but only last three days as opposed to the 7 days I had before. I love the coil, but I do have misgivings about the way it actually works xx |

I had my first coil fitted when i was about 19 and was in agony with it. I had to have it removed after two weeks as it has bent out of shape etc.
Then from 2012 I had the copper coil for about 2 years and had regular periods but they just got more painful and heavier  plus i would be in pain in between periods.
i had it removed in september and had an implant instead and now i don't have periods!! But i do get bad mood swings so watch out :p lol xxx |

I've had my marina coil
Now for the 5yrs it's due to be removed this November
And for me it's been a life saver I did have to
Persevere for about 9months
Of light bleeding but haven't had no trouble after that
No period or anything
And believe me I used to have the mother of periods with pain and heavy

I'm in the same boat. I'm barking enough at the best of times without needing a pile of hormones that I can't control surging around my body.  |

Worst thing I ever did. It made me pile weight on, and the hormones drove me insane.To cap it all, the doctor couldn't remove it, so I ended up in day surgery having my arm cut open. Never again. |

I piled on loads of weight with the rods in my arms.
Also I was like jekyll and Hyde my family made me go and have them removed |

Was on the injection for 10 years..stopped all periods was fantastic..It doesn't gain weight but ups your appetite so as long as you watch what you eat it's okay.. I have the mirena fitted now..periods regular but heavy and last over a week |
