listen girls i had lovely nails used normal nail varnish etc., but cos over the last 14 months I have been having GELISH nail polish every three weeks on them without a break my nails are like paper. Gel coming off tomoz gonna give my nails some time to heal. just wanted to let ya girls know about it, the salons never tell you the side effects  |

I can empathise, I have my acrylic nails done every two weeks, so mine are proper weak underneath. Love them though, so sharp and pointy, I'd never give them up  |

As a fully qualified (at Carlton Institute of Beauty Therapy in Windsor) Nail artist for 17 years and nail educator for one of the top product companies covering all of South Wales, I have acrylics on all the time. They only come off to change design, after all they are my advertising. My nails are not thin or weak I do cuticle oil several times a day as you should and having been properly qualified in the first place I know how to take them off. The biggest warning is to which salon or tech you use. A very light buff of the surface is absolutely the max needed In prep to apply nail enhancements. However sadly the industry is not regulated and any tom dick or harry can set up to do it with no training whatsoever. And as for the non standard salons who are usually foreign untrained techs they all need shooting for the damage they cause. They also use mma acrylic which you should not use on nails. Sorry but subject close to my heart and enhancements don't damage your nails bad techs and unqualified techs do the damage. As most of those techs tell people with weak nails that their client needs to let their nails breathe.. They don't have lungs..but if you have enhancements you must without fail use cuticle oil a minimum of twice a day. If you have weak nails now I would strongly advise finding a reputable tech and asking for IBX treatment works wonders and will strengthen your nails and repair any damage. But PLEASE select your tech based on their experience and qualifications and not on price, you do get what you pay for. There are good well qualified techs out their but having spent usually £1000's on their training and using top products they can't do cheap treatments. I'm not suggesting anyone has gone based on price but this is an honest warning for all. Acrylic enhancements should cost in the region of £35 and upwards. |

Yep they all need shooting..you can use an efile to take down bulk of acrylic when removing an old set but you have to be trained and carry a certificate to use one. And no excuse to use one on new set or on natural nails.
Sadly until the industry is regulated it's always going to be the same. Get fed up repairing and treated nails damaged by other techs (I use that term loosely mind lol). It's never worth paying low prices but too many people are price driven no matter what.
I'm addicted to my acrylics and have been for years, I always have very extreme stilettos on ... guys love em lol |

I went though it a few years ago my nail were not good for some time I had to let them grow cut them let them grow again for a long to e but now I don't put anything on them now and they are fine but it did take months to get them back in good heath |

Me too, would die before I parted with my stilettos. That's actually one of my D/S rules, I'm not allowed to change them, he loves them that much.  |

I go to a very good salon and have always had strong healthy nails but as the doc said you do have to have a break from them, even tho its only nail polish etc., its an extremely strong one. no good having it on my nails if its breaking my nails now so off it comes till nails get better. I just wanted to pass on what docs told me |

I use any old paint on mine. Its stops them rusting in the shed.
On a serious note no wonder men can afford toys like motorbikes, the money women spend on their bodys is crazy.
I love the natural look myself.Little or no makup etc.
orange women with loads of makup is a right turn off |
