Conversation starting

So many people on this site state in there profile that they will not reply to one liner messages like, hi how are you or things like introducing yourself and asking how's they finding the site! I understand that women or couples get so many messages of single men and a lot of them a waste of time at that but not all of us are the same and therefore shouldn't be branded that way! My problem is with this is that you could go putting a lot of effort into the message and then they bulk delete half the time anyway. So how are genuine single males supposed to get a chance?

i think they mean the one liners like "how are you" or wanna fuck a nice few line message might get luckier

Well any knob end who asks straight away do you fancy a fck deserves to be deleted but I think one liners are the start of a conversation. For instance if i receive a message asking hi how are you! I first look at there profile and then if I like I would reply! However most people just delete without even opening?

basically women can be much picker on here than (if they are truely honest) they can be in real life, some obvs like this power or sense there of soo they generally expect us gus to work a bit harder.

now each to there own but im not one to jump through hoop so i send whatever message im in the mood to write (some long - some short) and as you say some never get read some get deleted some i get meets from

i tend not to over think it im not desperate so i will leave it to the swinging gods and a given womans ego on the day wether i hear back

my only gripe is the hypocrisy of manners or lack there of

i get you get loads of messages but seriously manners and respect cost fuck all and work both ways

It must be pretty weird though, I suppose some of them are getting "chatted up" hundreds of times a day. Clichés must get very boring VERY quickly.

Agreed though, it doesn't leave much common ground to work with to try to open a conversation.

It's great that fab is free, but everything has a price... In this case it's the likelihood of idiots to create multiple accounts, do weird stalker shit, hide behind their keyboards etc. Which ruins it for everyone.

(I'm not arguing in favour of the site going paid only here, btw - just making an observation)

but pay peanuts get monkeys... er or middle aged valleys birds with wizards sleeves hanging between their legs

still its a free wank and a giggle

most people arnt worth talking to anyway

You seem very negative towards the site, that's a shame, as a positive attitude is usually a plus point aswell

naah not negative it is what it is ... i used to mod some paid sites and some other freebies back in the day so you see the spectrum good and bad on both sides

tbh im mostly on when im distracting myself from other things so dont take it very seriously

but i feel for the single guys that never get a look in... and the women who get grief

but back whan i was a profile mod ... it kinda takes the fun outta it a bit

I think it's because there's always something to discuss, people to bounce off etc, and because it's a public discussion there isn't that pressure to entertain (or entice) one specific person.

People get much more of a gauge of someone's sense of humour, general personality, and crucially, can see how your and their friends react to you with you, which is all important "feedback" in determining whether they think you're a twat and if they feel safe/attracted.

Basically the forums can sometimes act like a bloke showroom for women, in a good way. And vice versa of course. Just my 2p.

Just because you see it as a giggle and free wank doesn't mean that "is what it is"

A lot of men are very successful on here so it certainly isn't the case for all guys

i think with most things online - it gets diluted thats the beauty and curse of access

hence me agreeing that some paid sites have advantages

beyond that if you get from it what your after then more power to you

ive had rich veins from here in the past when i used the site differently and i always come back when i leave

Receiving 'hi how are you' a hundred times a day gets really old really fast.

If a guys message doesn't stand out, I won't take the time to read it and reply. I don't have the time or the inclination! However if its a fun, sparky message, it's a winner

I find I have to delete messages due to fact I've started noticing again I reply no thank you for whatever reason and get

Why so I reply then can I change your mind followed by a load more messages
