Just out of interest to see other people's opinion? But for quite a while the Wales forum has been saturated by ads and offers for socials and parties.
Admittedly they are all based in Wales.
Wouldn't a more appropriate place to post such topics be the "swingers events ads" forum or the "Meets requests and parties" forum. Leaving the Wales forum for other topics which aren't covered but are Welsh specific??
Just a thought?

No
Due to the fact the amount of people who message to attend you wouldn't be able to go back to forward details when it came time to send dates as it's generally advertised 8+ weeks before hand |

The socials have been well established in the Wales forum for several years.
It's a hard call really...
If we were to advertise them on the Meets forum then they probably wouldn't get the coverage or response they do have.
And also it would be less likely to reach any newbies that might wish to come along.
And last, but not least, the Wales forum would be thin on the ground
As it is there are already several borrowed threads from the Lounge |

"Welsh forums are for everything including meets and socials and other topics plenty room for all in Wales forum "
I'm not denying that. I'm just saying that there are specific forums for such topics.. And have seen on numerous occasions people getting uppity about (such things like) "meets" getting posted in here, and directing the OP to the "meets" forum! |

Think the individual "meets" are quite a bit different to an inclusive social |

..Or.. If I was a newbie, the obvious place for me to look would be an events type forum..
And the slight possibility that it is thin on the ground is because seven out of the top ten topics posted are all social ads??

I think most newbies have a hard time navigating the forums
If I were looking for going on in Wales then I'd head for the Wales forum
If there wasn't the social threads I think there wouldn't be that many others |

"I only look at the Welsh forum, so would miss any adverts for socials, if they were posted else where "
That's fair.. And I understand that there is a legacy if it's always been done that way..
I'll consider myself told and get back under my rock ?? |

Of course I understand the approach of the organisers, and it makes sense, especially as it's always been done that way.. But, I just thought that the correct "procedure" for this type of thing would be to go down the aforementioned routes..
However, seeing as I'm the only one on this side of the fence, I'm guessing I'm fighting a loosing battle..

In your defense I see your point totally.. I don't use half of what this site has on it. No idea the last time I even did a search for anything (even browsing profiles)..
I tend to look at whatever is put in front of me and go from there |

"I have never ever looked in the meets and events section I would miss everything if they all hid in there "
Of course, and why would you as it's always in here.. But if it was the other way round from the start would you of always missed everything, or would that of been common knowledge..

There's definately some one upmanship or should I say one upwomanship going on coz once one posts a social en they all do n as for the parties half of um never materialise it's just people seeking attention n getting it lol Use the lounge if you want more general or humourus threads n you'll find a lot of us in there anyway instead of here for some reason.... |

Not really the route I was going down with the thread, and really don't want this turning sour which I'm sure it will now..
But perhaps you're right, maybe it was me just looking in the wrong place to start with..

Running a social for the benefit of others is often a thankless task & lot of hard work n stress, not sure how that equates to one upmanship, but hey who gives a fuck really. Think most who arrange them do it for the benefit of others, I know I do cos I know if I don't carry this on no one else will & that's 60+ Fabsters every 8 weeks who will miss this social event X |

I think if you look into the social advert threads, you'll find there's a load of fun banter in it, as opposed to the often sour turning of some of the other threads or jibes...it's all in good fun, I wouldn't look in the other posts as there would just be too many to look through to find it, only like 8/9 topics per page, who wants to trawl, we are looking for fun, if it ain't broke, don't fix it makes it much easier to spy local people who like going out and not sitting behind their keyboard easier too xx |

Ah no need for it to turn sour its just an observation I made,we're all mates on yuh n can still participate n have a giggle even if we aren't anyway...It's just a different opinion from where I'm sitting n it would be such a dull place if everyone felt the same... |

Meets and events section are rather prescriptive in what you can put, and how far in advance you can post, so it makes sense to put a thread up in here, as you can add info and answer questions etc.
Also keeping track of who wants onto the list etc is a lot easier in here too.
I guess there is the history thing too, everyone knows where to find them lol!
Why fix it if it aint broke! |

Love things the way they are, easy to find the things that I am interested in i.e. Socials locally, without trawling through loads of other places;-) call me lazy but why change something that works |
