abuse reporting to admin

I have had my singles profile up and running a few weeks now and the abuse I have had to put up with from some men when you say thanks but your not my type is amazing. I have been called a slapper, slut, std whore and racist. But the worse abuse I have had has to be last night. You report these people to admin but I fail to see why when they do nothing about it and the members are still here. Fab would be a better place if they did remove waste of space people like this !!!

Name and shame noone deserves any kind of abuse we are all adults here well so I thought.

Block them and take no notice of what they are saying. Chin up xx

Does seem that the report function is not that strong - I reported someone using my pic - and nothing done - not even an acknowledgement of why/what - my pic was about 4 years old and he dropped it on his profile recently. Not as bad as your abuse situation I am sure - but this doesn't help with the site safety feelings at all - hope it gets resolved and you get some nicer guys

Just means that you made the right decision not to meet them.. If their fragile ego's can't take a "thanks but no thanks" message.

I personally wish people well after a knock back, after all, we all can't be liked by everyone and my shoulders are broad enough to accept that (that and the fact I must be ugly lol).

i think it shows maturity and I also know that people talk... If someone were to say that I was nasty to them after a rejection, word would get around....not good.

anyhow. that's my Saturday morning thoughts for the day on this...

& before long this thread will be stopped &/or removed. I've found the most effective method is to report, block & then share the details via your networks on Fab. The problem you will always have is that the person then deletes their profile because word has got around & then they create another. It's hard to track these numpties at times X

I know it is so annoying that nothing is done about them. We pay to use the site not get abused. You can block and report them but it appears that nothing is ever done

I hadn't even messaged this bloke before. Had not even said thanks but no thanks. He just basically started with the abuse and it got worse. I know some people get kicks out of abusing people. But I honestly think admin should do more to protect their members xx

I have to give credit where it is die and I have spoken to and met some great men on here. It's just a shame that a number of narrow minded people and I say that as it's not just men that can be abusive spoil this site.

And I think more should be done to sort this out xx

The problem is if these people have their profiles deleted they can make a new one under a completely different name. Sometimes I think the site should have the photo verified option as mandatory to keep the fakes and nutters away

This is half the problem, they can return quite easily and continue with it.

There's NO room for abuse whatsoever and the abuse that goes on here is incredible.

Have my thinking cap on and am going to try and come up with a system that could help, then propose it to the site owners.

Either way, there is no need to suffer ANY form of abuse, and it rears its ugly head in more way than just one, sadly...

I think something should be done to protect all of us more not just women because men and couples face the same abuse. The guy yesterday had been a member for a year no photos no verifications. I think we should all be made to be silver or gold members , should be photo verified that should then put a stop to fake profiles xx

One thing I was thinking is everyone should be made to be gold or silver members and be made to pay this on approval of your account not set up the account and then pay. also we should all be photo verified. If your account is not photo verified in a certain length of time a warning email sent out to advise it needs to be done in x amount of time or your account will be disabled xxx

The problem with that is the site is set up to entice people in with the free use I for one will not pay any site supporters fees thats my choice. This is how they have managed to amass a large database of users. Should the site be as you described then I for one would not be here, I'm not a nutter, I respect peoples choice to say no and discuss and I do not resort to name calling or cyber-bullying.

You should think about why you want people to pay money for the privilege of having an account here, You say you have reported to admin about a another user, and as you see it nothing has been done. For example if you attended a club and you were subjected to the same treatment would you expect the management to do nothing about it?

This has been discussed many many times before, you have a few options.

Report to admin

Block the person

Remove your account

Find another site as equally frustrating

Yeah I have reported to admin , I have blocked them as well. I currently pay for 3 profiles my own my partners and also our couples profile. I have no issues in paying for the site. It's the site being free that gives it the free for all and it's decent people men who suffer because of the minority on here x

I tend to agree...

Paying will help whittle down some of the ones who will abuse.

It's easy to join freely and start abusing people.

If you charge a flat rate, if people REALLY want it, they will pay.

It's a little over 8 pence a day for silver support... I'm sure most genuine people will pay this?

Also, what about an hierarchy system where only site supporters can message other site supporters?

That would again, be another 'filter' to prevent any people abusing others?

Ive removed posts.

If you receive abusive messages then you need to report them to Admin rather than posting about the content of the messages on the forum.

Admin have said many, many times that Name and Shame is too open to abuse and it will never be allowed on site. People who do it are likely to end up with a ban themselves.

Admin have commented on the compulsory phot verification on threads before - Asking all new users to photo-verify is something that is asked quite often. It's not something we'll ever do.

If you think not having photo-verification means someone is more likely to be a timewaster it's super easy to choose not to interact with those people already

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******

So just because a profile isnt removed it doesnt mean that action hasnt been taken - just means that you dont know about it.
