it's difficult for people to give a genuine veri without actually meeting , there's not much they can say if it's just a cam they've seen you on , " yes he's a guy " or " seems nice on cam " aren't really worthwhile and won't really get you anywhere ,
it's apparent from your status you're a bit fed up with hearing about going to a social but unless you're getting lots of meets then it really is you're best bet, couples are far more likely to chat to you and get to know you in a social , no pressure enviroment , it's unlikely you'll get to play after a social but at least couples can then verify you as a decent guy who can hold a conversation and is clean , polite and respectful , then you take it from there -
just our opinion obviously

"Hey thanks both for your opinions . I will take note. How do find out about these social nights ? "
each social has a dedicated forum thread just find the thread and the details are usually in the first post. |

Just keep an eye out in the Wales forum , a lot of people are under the impression these nights only for a certain group of people or there's a clique and it's hard to be included but nothing could be further from the truth .
The people that organize them are great and provided you let them know in good time that you'd like to go there's no reason that you won't get an invite , discretion is obviously very important so the details of the venue are kept secret until the last moment for obvious reasons.
You'll find plenty of other single guys are going and you'll see that by looking at the names of people requesting invites so it may be worth your while contacting them and seeing if they fancy a drink beforehand and then going together , it's Obviously very daunting walking in alone but the folks there understand that lol ,.
Hope this helps |

"Pop along to a social there's a few coming up & you should manage a couple of veris & make links with others x"
I thought you had to be verified to attend socials? I queried a while ago about the upcoming Bridgend one and was asked to.display my verification(which was the only one i had left at the time) when i did i was told the person who had written it was not displaying theirs therefore i couldnt be vetted so couldnt attend. Thats why when i see people recommending unverified newbies to attend socials i get a bit confused |

There were some new singles and couples that attended the last Newport Social and the organisers did a great job of sendng them in the right direction of others that would welcome them and quash their nerves. Hope they return to socials in the future because of this. |

"Not as far as i am aware ? You go, have a chat, and NO playing
I meant the criteria for being able to attend x"
Don't think so. Obviously if you break the rules and play when you've been asked not to then I doubt you'll be allowed to the next one. |

I may be wrong here & I'm not 100‰ but I think there was a little more caution than usual for the Bridgend Social due to the whole press interest thing. It may just have been a temporary measure so it's worth asking the organiser direct x |

We wre at the last Bridgend social and unfortunately it was leaked to the press by a very petty member that a swingers party was being held there , as usual the narrow minded brigade got it into their heads that it was a full on orgy taking place in a public place but nothing could be further from the truth..
The lovely lady that organised it obviously felt awful about it and left the site for a while , thankfully she's back now but understandably she's very careful about who gets invited to the next one , I'm sure it wasn't a judgement on yourself but I think we'd all do the same in her shoes , generally socials are a place where everyone is welcome regardless of veri's , we all have to start with none at all . |

Ok maybe its just the Bridgend one that looks at verifications and then at the verifications of the person who left them etc? If i decide to attend one in future maybe ill go to Swansea or Newport x |

No worries i didnt take it personally
Just see people telling unverified newbies to attend socials when it seems that (at least in the case of the Bridgend one) they wouldnt be allowed x |

If you definitely want to go to a social , it may be worth trying the Cardiff and Newport ones where the organisers aren't so nervous about accepting newer member or those with no veri's , the lady that does the Cardiff one is really lovely , at least that way you'll get to meet people , get some veri's and there'll be no stopping you lol
Best of luck and hope you have fun xx |

Pointless reply from us
We agree with the rest of these lovely people.
Go to the socials or a club.
It's a great way to get a vari and more importantly make friends on the scene.
Like everything in life it won't come to you. A little effort will go a long way. |

As the organiser of the Newport Social, I would like to put my bit across. When we first started doing the socials, I used to have verified and non verified members, BUT, it was nearly always the non verified members who just wouldn't attend, and not contact us to say they couldn't attend, taking the place of a verified member.
Due to places being limited, and as you are all aware, we do have a reserve list. When I would then check out their profile the following day, 9/10 of them had gone off the site.
You also have members who have been on the site for over a year, no verifications, and a very sparse profile, it does make one wonder then if they are genuine and would definitely attend.
This resulting in now, i do not have any non verified member, BUT, I do give them whether its a single/couple a chance to meet us before the social date, for a social meet, and then all I get back is, "ok, will be in touch to arrange something" and guess what, they never get back. So in my opinion if they are genuine about wanting to attend, they would have met up with us.
But I do understand there are some non verified members who are 100% genuine, but you always get the ones that have spoilt it for them.
We have fabulous turnouts at the social, and intend to keep it that way.
