after having witnessed (and to some extent been part of) a rather heated 'discussion' in the chatroom earlier today...I was wondering what ppl's definition of a swinger was, as we clearly seem to have very differing ideas!!
My definition of swinging is the old fashioned one, I suppose...wife swapping.. and for that you need a partner..
therefore as I have no partner I don't class myself as a swinger....i'm just someone who loves sex!!    |

it was mentioned that we 'singletons' were pseudo swingers and that because we weren't proper swingers we should get off the site and let the proper swingers get on with it  |

if you cant be a "swinger" if your single then why the hell did they give an option on the site for single male or single females?
I think swinging means having friends "with benefits" and theres a clear understanding between all parties that its just sex. yes the old term for swinging was wife swapping, but attitudes change over time and i think the meaning of swinger has changed.
My opinion though and not going to argue with anyone else about it lol

people who enjoy meeting many for sex, and swinging site is a good place to meet people who are happy to have sex without the complications of a meaning relationship.
So it's basicly about sex with others, without any strings atached...
or as many say on the forums, not meeting, just to chat with those who do swing....  |

I would say that, these days, a more accurate definition would be that a swinger is someone who engages in recreational sex without wanting a relationship, with those of a similar mindset. |

Swingers to us are all people who are looking for and participate in sexual activities for the fun and and sexual pleasure but who are not looking for ties or commitment. God forbid there was a site where there were no single guys or girls, we'd have to consider hanging our boots up!!!  |

in the 60s we called it free love where the peeps had multi partners
throughout time it has always been there the Romans called it orgies but the nitty gritty is its like minded peeps having fun doing what they want with each other without cheating single or married we all have a common goal sex some of us deviate from the core and add kinks to our lives but its a good life and i have enjoyed the ride and will stay on the horse as long as i can i have met some fantastic friends on the way and introduced lots of peeps to the scene long gone are the days of meeting at the house and swapping partners its a lot more open and social these days just be safe

It's simple for me:a single who calls him/herself a Swinger is exactly that, a Swinger  ....the term swingle is lovely,too

Well the site owners think that singles are swingers as well obviously.
its a way of life .I have been a single man on here but now a couple. I
I've been swinging since 1987 and throughout have been on swinging sites and used swinging magazines,even before the tinternet.
pof is more a site for non swingers where people want a sex meet but swinging is so much more with partys , group sex etc.so yes singles on a swinging site are swingers in my mind . |
