First let me say that the current welsh mods are great but have time limitations
as a result wales is mod free quite regularly , i would ask that those who have an opinion write here i have written to admin and they are not currently taking moderators on |

we got loads of moderators on the site if the room sticks together against numpties they will get the message surely. we have asked and asked for more mods but if owners say NO thats it we just have to get the mods over the bridge lol  |

thanks up to now for the input but surely as most regulars are supporters we deserve to be given room mods who know who is who and where banter is and abuse starts . i myself got banned for a comment between true Friends the mod didnt know any better mods should be local and regular chat room users |

I'm a bit confused about why mods are a little thin on the ground?
The position is unpaid, people do it as and when they can spare the time, yet despite the fact that it costs the site nothing and would ensure the rooms are covered more, Admin arent taking on mods?
I can understand Admin not just handing out the stars willynilly, but I think the whole site in general, and the Wales chatroom in particular, needs more mods.
The ones we have do a great job, but they are a little thin on the ground. |

If it's rude and abusive then it's read as that, whether friends or not.
What happens if someone new comes into the room and sees you speaking to your friend like that? Does that make it ok for them to then start speaking to others in the room in a similar tone? If it could be deemed as rude and/or offensive then it's best not to say it in main chat. |

we are going off the track and to draw a line under it , i agree with the above comment , We need more moderators is the start of the thread , yes or no .
its unpaid and demanding and those mods we have are great but overstretched.
so keep it simple

 no we don't need more mods, I get enough bans without adding more mods !
On the legit side of things the whole site needs more mods but as we the users are not privy to how many mods are on the site then it is a hard call. Don't forget mods need loving.... Sorry holidays aswell so maybe they are all away as it is school hols. Maybe next week we will be inundated with mods again ? |

cj and maid work days and Joan does what she can leaving a large daytime hole in moderation availability, this is not about who we have got but the numbers that we haven't got all 4 of these mods are fair and very committed to the UNPAID work they do for the site i spend a lot of time in and out of chat as i work from home and its all hours of the day so i see the real picture , every day this week has been mod free for 80% of the time and holidays don't play a huge part in in as previous weeks it has been the same .
As a site supporter on two profiles i think we deserve to have an availability of moderators even then there will be times when the room is mod free.
As previous members have said if we didn't have the numpties who spoil chat then there would be no need for mods and we all have block buttons , but the behavior of the few spoil the pleasure for the many.

yep! self moderating is the way forward...if a little bit lonely, and sometimes downright bizarre when you are only getting half a conversation...
I agree we don't need any more mods than we have already, as more often than not mods come in from elsewhere to save the situation...eventually lol
as mods usually tell you to use the block button anyway before things get too heated why do we need more?....just DIY and the numpties will soon get the message!!  |

we all have a different view quite obviously , the thing i see is that if a mod is in the room runs much smoother that if not , I know a few of the ladies are getting pissed off by the numpty bus and if theres no ladies on fabs then well there's just no fabs, it doesn't cause me any alarm personally how ever many arrive but the room falls apart the chat stops the topic of conversation is lost so spoiling chat full stop, for what i get from chat it makes little difference anyway . how many times have we all lost the plot or gone looking for a moderator outside the wales room to return to find the person we are talking to has got pissed off and left chat so messing up what may have fruitioned into a meet . so we block our friends and chat mates because they get caught up in the Bus . |

yet another great morning in wales room numpty bus came in all the regulars were disrupted took 15 mins to find a mod from another room , mod came in trouble stopped instantly , mod left trouble started again a few users reported by several of us , this is not funny and its becoming pointless being in chat , some people don't mind but regulars find it very annoying chat room is becoming more and more less enjoyable .  |

Can I ask why you don't block the troublemakers? It would mean that you wouldn't see them causing trouble and would let the room run smoothly for you. If these people have no audience then they can't trouble anyone.

I cant be online 24/7 as i have a job.
All the mods do it for free, and i think you will find that they are all passionate about the site and the rooms.
You would not believe the greif we get for something we do for the good of the site.
You must remember that there are large amounts of members on here and there is inevitably going to be some that slip through the net due to no mod coverage in chat.
But ! Every one of you have the means to control what you see and what you recieve voa chat.
The block button is a wonderful thing !
Yes, the report button works just as well, and just because there may be no immidiate action, the fab machine is grinding its cogs in the background.
I think all this feedback is great, and its just what the forums are for. The more we discuss (in the right forum) about the site, the better it will become for all of us.
Have fun here and dont let the numpty's drag you down !

Nothing to add to this really other than concur with Cj and say you all have a block button ... Oh and add the mods to your hotlists then should you need one one is generally online ... We do mod all of the rooms but as we are also members and in most cases on here for the same reasons as other members we will naturally gravitate to our 'home' rooms but we are ALWAYS on call to go to other rooms should we be needed.

First to maid , Cj and to joan , theres nthing wrong with the way or the frequency that you do the moding work , this is not a personal dig in anyway at all . finding a mod is slow and troublesome and to be honest its 01:00 sunday morning , you have lives outside of chat but there is two mods only online at this moment in time , i just checked as the wales room is in uproar again naked bodies every where , as it should be , but no mod available even if more are sequestered then the situation may well arise. there are other users who could easily do the job as well as yourselves and who are willing to do so , rather than get abused for reminding the room not to direct or respect the other users , i think the rooms are becoming well honestly to much hassle |

we only ever had one mod originally which was Vampy, then myself, then crystals and we were only three but we more than covered the room between us so we have four welsh mods now cj maid joan and rich more than enough to keep rooms in order BUT I do agree VAMPY should be a mod again cos VAMPS was the original and the best bring back the Caerphilly One lol |

With respect OP...this just seems to be going round in circles.
It wouldn't matter how many mods you had there would still be times where mods won't be in the rooms.
The directors may annoy some people, but the chatters telling them off every few minutes I have found annoys too......so the block button is the best option or it may stop your enjoyment of the chat rooms altogether.
Don't forget to add your interest in being a mod from the CONTACT button...you will get a reply back saying when they are appointing more mods they may get in touch. |

well , i wont be staying if theres not something done and others are getting same opinion , chat rooms are becoming a mare , its about the only reason some of us stay on the site , as meets are non existent, i have spoken with many regulars and they are all cheesed off . another site ran a system where the originator of the room was the moderator therefore there was a mod present 100% of the time if you didn't like tho room you went else where or opened your own room , admittedly this had its own drawbacks in personality clashes etc ,
In Simple truth there probably isn't a cure to the disease of numpties in chat.
block button works only if 100% use the block and dont reply once replys are in the conversation then chat is still disrupted .

Now that someone has posted something that can be discussed and not another arse kissing or gossipy post, I’ll start by saying I do find the following a little contradictory.
“It wouldn't matter how many mods you had there would still be times where mods won't be in the rooms. Don't forget to add your interest in being a mod from the CONTACT button”. On one hand people are saying we don’t need mods and there is no point to adding more yet there’s an invitation to express an interest. Even with the replay from admin “i have written to admin and they are not currently taking moderators on”
Yes I agree with, there won’t be enough mods at any one given time but appointing an extra mod per room channel would give the site 11, surely enough to cover any disputes that may arise.
As for the difficulty of the admins appointing more Mods it really isn’t that hard as I am sure they live in the admin panel.
Okay I can see the point of not handing out a shiny star to anyone who asks and to be honest voting on who should have one per room will only end up as another arse kissing contest.
As for the blocking of the so called “numpties” as long as there is someone baying for their attention then they won’t leave, all you will achieve is allowing them to abuse someone else and it will continue until someone reports them, oh wait that’s open to abuse, but hey if there was a mod in the room there would be no need to block or report as the mods would do it, adding to the authenticity of the ban.
There was a time when the Welsh room was regularly full and managed well. Sadly it seems there are people who are unhappy with the site as it is currently being run, maybe it’s not the site and down the individual, maybe it’s a lack of respect from other members, and maybe it’s the fact that there are no mods available at the given times stated. Whatever the reason if people find the site a less enjoyable place that it has been you have a choice to either find another site and leave taking your money with you or stop using part of the site that they find less enjoyable that way you won’t have to deal with so called numpties and people wonder why there is decreased numbers in the chat room

It isn't contadictory at all....I said no matter how many mods there are there will still be times were mods won't be in the room....that isn't the same as saying "we don’t need mods and there is no point to adding more"
I didn't make any comment at all as to wether I think there is a need for more mods.
The other comment is because these threads are normally started by people who want to mod so I was making sure they have the right information to show their interest.
People won't get an answer saying " we are not taking mods on" but they will get an answer saying something along the lines of.... WHEN we are taking more mods on we will consider your request. |

hi i would like to thank prof for the educated and thought out reply to this forum topic ,there will always be times but 22 hours over the weekend there were no mods in at all just proving that there are not enough , i would happily do it but it still needs more than just one extra, its a thankless task anyway but at least chat flows better when a mod is present good or bad, numpties don't do it out of being lacking in knowing the rules they misbehave because they can .
I offered as i work from home at a pc all day most weekdays and i know the rules and the regulars who behave 99 % of the time , its no problem for me to have chat open in the background when working so a simple poke will bring me to the room to attend to poor behavior i am also very literate in the operation of computer's and applications therefore i would take to it easily.
If the administrators / owners are not interested in this well i cant alter anything or would i try to influence this in anyway .
Thanks for the constructive comments now coming forwards. john
Ps: being a mod also reduces the chance of meeting as a single guy so no gain in it for me at all really . |

as has been said already there are no specific mods for each room, it just happens that some of the mods are welsh or live in wales so gravitate towards that room when they are online...they are human after all and we are all here for the same thing
and to be honest if todays 'discussion' was anything to go by for you becoming a mod....didn't you disappear saying you would come back when it was quieter?? not a very good example to be honest |

as has been said already there are no specific mods for each room, it just happens that some of the mods are welsh or live in wales so gravitate towards that room when they are online...they are human after all and we are all here for the same thing

if i was a mod , then i would have stayed and sorted the problem , i.m not going to make this personal as i shouldnt , but with what was said i would have considered it rude to another user IE me and banned without hesitation .
ask vamps if you think it doesnt affect meeting ability . anyway time for this thread to close i think enough has been said , by a few .
