North West Wales Social - Any Interest?

Hi guys,
just curious how much interest there would for a Social in general area of Bangor in Gwynedd?
We already have a receptive publican who's happy to let his pub be used as a venue so please don't post loads of replies asking for it to be held on your doorstep  if it's going to happen the venue is already sorted. 
Happy to hear suggestions on the best night of the week for it to be held though? We were thinking of a Friday since it's not a "school night" but not a Saturday which is often busy for a lot of people.
Thoughts? Interest?

 Bangor long way for us, is there accom within the pub? If not could you please let us know what area, via PM if you want, so we can google hotels locally and try and get an idea of how much. Regarding the best night for us, Sat is always best for us as Steel works and to travel after work for 4 hours and attend a social would be hard work. Keep at it, keep us informed and please add us provisionaly to the list. Well done for taking on the challenge, we are keeping finger crossed for you

Hi Sapphire & Steel the pub does have a small number of B&B Rooms so you could stay on site. For the time being we're obviously keeping specific details a little vague but I will be sure to let you know if things move forward.
As for taking up the challenge it's a dirty job but someone has to do it!  |

Well given the way these things generally take longer than you expect to plan (experience from Vanilla events speaking there) it may well not be happening until after the holiday season is over! 
Interestingly enough all interest shown so far, both here and via PM, has been from "out of towners" not locals!

Yeah already realised that avoiding Pennant Hall night was a good idea one of the reasons we suggested it might be a Friday Night. So long as a few turn up we'd class it as a success and plan another these things tend to need a few tries to get going properly.

I think there is also someone else who is trying to start socials around the Mold area, so if that gets up and running I would probably attend those as Mold is nearer to me than Bangor is..mind you, having said that I am travelling down for the next Cardiff social!! but good luck with it all  |

While that is largely true it is at the organiser's discretion who they reveal the location to so it could be said invitations are made. Many socials I've attended are limited to the number of single males who can attend (just like clubs) so those who politely state they would like to attend rather than saying they "will be there" stand a better chance of being included. |

well after seeing the distinct lack of interest from single fems i'd have thought you would be actually looking to fill a venue to make it worthwhile, and therefore not being so fussy |

A pub full of blokes looking for playmates is pretty much the norm.... if it was full of couples, that would be suspicious lol....
There are plenty of adult interest groups meeting all over the places, they tend to be in a pub discreetly of the groups purpose.... |

We've been wondering about the possibility of organising a couples ONLY social in the north Wales area.
No gaggles of single men stalking couples, no single fems getting all the attention.

I think social should be everyone , single couple gay bi tv the whole lot should be welcome , afterall its a SOCIAL all you've got to do is do is chat and do what your comfortable with , restricting things before it even happens is a little silly ,  |

I see once again nothing has come of this....a case of hot air on the OP's behalf??
maybe a night out somewhere where ppl just turn up, like a pub crawl...did one in Manchester once and it was good fun and lots turned up as there were no restrictions |
