Supposing you are in a bar and get chatting to a couple and getting along well and not knowing if the couple you have just met are possibly on fab . How could you ask the question without giving your intention away . Perhaps say to one of their comments that is absolutely fab and anyone that understood would reply with another word to confirm you are on the same page . Would that work. What's your thoughts .x |

To be honest, if someone new uses the word "fab" in an early conversation, the radar goes up and then it's a slight dance around judging if they meant it as a sign or just an innocent phrase.
We generally would prefer people to just ask us, if in a discrete place where talking. |

Ask them if they like cooking. If they say yes follow it up with an offer to go back to yours to make a cream pie. Whatever they're expecting (food or a stuffing) everyone's gonna be satisfied either way
Personally I'd take either as an absolute win |

I've never dropped the hint in person.
Even when I know they're a member.
If someone says that's Fab in a conversation I always become super aware of the word and wonder if I'm missing the hint... |

You couid use the 'who's near option' to gauge a closer possibility |

I used to leave my phone on the bar or table with the front page of the site open, it's funny how many people see it and go wide eyed and start chatting. Also used to have a huge "bad dragon" sticker on the rear of my old phone, got a lot of smiles and comments for that too. |
