My first social last night! (NEWPORT)

Well..
I went to my first social last night, in Newport, firstly, thank you to the organisers of the event!
I was quite nervous about going, and at first, I felt like a lost lamb, I wasnt quite sure what to do with myself.
After a couple of drinks, and with the help of a fellow singleton, I got a bit more involved, I ended up meeting some lovely people, especially the two absolutely gorgeous ladies I spent most of the night talking to.
I realised that everyones actually super friendly (for the most part).
In the end, I had a great time, and I certainly will be attending more socials.

I think we had a very different experience last night . For me it was not what I was expecting.. if I'm honest the raw smell of B.O was enough.. admittedly myself and my girlfriend didn't stay too long and it may of got better as the night and drinks flowed but It wasn't for me . They should definitely sell right guardright next to the warm Redbull at the bar .. this is no slight on the organisers as you can not control who attends but I definitely expected more younger couples to be there . |

I mean, if im honest most of my time was spent out in the beer garden, i did notice that, it wasnt pleasant, but it didnt last the entire night. Definitely not enough to ruin an entire evening, for me anyway! |

Yeah that's a fair comment and I did go around 11pm .. and it was a total attack on the senses new faces smells nerves and maybe a fixated on this more than others ... but I definitely had no intention to upset anyone or indeed hijack your feed . |

You are all good man! I definitelt wouldnt rule out socials in future though. Did you get there early? Im trying to figure out if i saw you both haha |

Glad your first experience was positive Danny, like you I spent most of it outside, and on the whole people are friendly enough,the effort put in by the organisers has to be applauded and everyone is welcome to attend.
I find these things are what you make of them, hopefully get a beer at the next one! |

Yeah we got there around 8:30 ish. Ive been attending Newport socials on and off for over a decade at this point. End of July/August socials are usually a bit quieter for obvious reasons but last night was the first time I’d felt uncomfortable sensory wise (autistic with sensory processing disorder), I’m really really not good with ‘off’ smells and it’s pretty much all I could focus on inside quite honestly.
