What does Swinger Speed Dating look like?
Jump to: Newest in thread
This deserves a thread of it's own as so many people are asking.
This was set up as an antidote to the problem of "cliqueiness"
It's our view that people don't actually form cliques, but it quite often looks that way as people tend to gravitate towards those they already know.
It can be hard to approach new people, and there are few folk confident enough to break into a group who are already chatting.
The Speed Dating is a really informal affair, we have lots of people sitting on comfy sofas, others preferring to stand.
Due to the fact that we have singles, couples, even throuples, of every persuasion, there is no sensible way to factor in people's preferences.
So we just run it as one big get-to-know-you party involving everyone. The dating is done in five minutes intervals, with a whistle blast telling you it's time to move on.
People that play together can move as pairs or groups if they want - there's no strictness.
There's plenty of time after the speed dating to hang out with those who you might like to know better.
It is hilarious, chaotic and really good fun. The overall aim is that, by the end of the night we all have dozens of new friends.
We're always open to suggestions, feedback and ideas for improvement, feel free to get in touch

We didn't know what to expect at the first speed dating event and as our preference is couples we weren't sure how it would work chatting with singles too. Within the first 10 minutes though we fell into a groove and had great fun chatting to singles, couples and throuples, sharing funny stories and discussing all manner of things.
Later on in the night we spent time with those that had caught our eye.
So all in all we expanded our social circle and met potential future play partners in a chilled no pressure environment. We really can't wait to catch up with people at the next one
Amazing event as always Lojo x |

Attended this event as complete newbie. Although I have been on Fab few years never been to social before. Speed dating was great fun and all those involved in arranging were excellent. In such a party of people small groups always graviate to each other but I don't feel anyone felt or was excluded. Great night good laugh and some lovely people there. Highly recommended ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

We haven’t managed to attend the speed dating yet, but we will as soon as the calendar allows. It sounds like a great idea and something new and out of the box thinking in Wales. We are looking forward to attending as we are guilty of mainly talking to the people we know. Although, we do try to make new connections and make a conscious effort to help people feel welcome as we know what it’s like to try new venues and things… ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |
