Hi all. After attending a few events (both localish and _ll over the uk) I'm keen to throw a social.
I've been in touch with a private venue hire and with being vague on the nature of the event I think it could potentially be a great night.
I'm just gaging interest at this point. How many are up for it? Also would a ticketed event (prepaid) turn you off? I'm nervous about shelling out money and it being a flop.
This would be a social, no play event.
I've seen how lots of different socials work, I understand many worry about "cliques" and have a few ideas how they can be overcome.

Yey. I thought many would travel too as well as being local. Can you tell me what you think of pre paid ticket idea? Does it turn you off. So nervous about shelling out the pennies and nobody turning up.  |

Yep, it's hard to make connections and get chatting if people are in a group chatting. We went to a club that had a set up/event to get more people to mingle. It worked well so I'm hoping to recreate. |

To echo _almprints post earlier? Is this going anywhere? If not by the original organisers, then anyone up for hosting it independently? I would be happy to coordinate if enough folks are genuinely interested… |

I have been to many socials here in Carmarthen and its always been a great turn out, the last one we had was back in February 2020 and it was such a great night for everyone, I would definitely be interested in this |

I’d be keen to attend a social like this in my home town. Be interesting to mingle with many of the local people who won’t reveal their faces on here and end up blocking you. Good job I’ve got a fantastic memory for names  |

Hi all apologies I've had to make you all wait for a date for this. I can now confirm a venue is booked for the 2nd of March in Carmarthen. Please send me a private message if you would like to attend and I will add you to a list to receive the invitation link on eventbrite.
Couples will be prioritised with limited spaces for singles. £15 per couple ticket £10 for single, (plus booking fee), will also include a free drink each
Event will be private event no members of the public. Venue to be announced to ticket holders 5 days before the event. |

Sorry for the autocorrect on previous post. Due to the numbers not getting high enough to have book the venue exclusively for us, the event is no longer ticketed and will just be a social gathering in a public setting, discretion and your best behaviour appriciated. If you'd like to attend send me a message. Still lots of us attending x |
