Caerphilly Social *Charity Event* Thursday 20th July

The next Caerphilly Social on Thursday 20th July will be a charity event raising money for Velindre Cancer Centre. This is in memory of our swinging friend The Wandering Welshman who passed away with cancer recently. This will take place in a village in Caerphilly
The evening will be the usual social but to raise funds there will be a raffle. We will also have our usual quiz during the evening. We would be grateful if you could show your support by coming along and being as generous as you can be for this excellent cause.
The details will be sent out the Monday before.
This is a chance for the unverified to get their personalities shown.
Entry is £3.00 per person.
Please do not add your name if you have no intention of attending; if you don't turn up without messaging Caerphilly Socials page you will be banned from attending any more socials.
If you do not have a profile pic on your account you will not be put on the guestlist as we are not Cilla Black and this isn't blind date.
It's held in a private function room, closed to the public, and will run from 7.00pm-11.00pm. Plenty of time to mingle and have fun with the quiz.
As this is a social evening there will be NO PLAYING AT ALL on the premises. Anyone found playing etc, will be asked to leave the premises and banned from future Caerphilly socials.
Dress code is casual dress.

Just over 2 weeks to go and the guest list is looking good. We only have 10 spaces left now.
Thank you to everyone who have generously donated to the raffle.
Jackie Fan Club will be there selling tickets to their social event on 1st September. A fantastic night taking us back to our school discos! |

Many thanks to the lovely organisers for a great evening. The quiz was enjoyable (though hard lol), the raffle was amazing ... So many great prizes donated for the charity ... And what a fantastic total raised for Velindre in memory of a lovely guy. Fantastic.

Thank you to everyone who attended, bought raffle tickets, donated money or raffle prizes! ***WE RAISED £370!***
You made this event so successful and we were so overwhelmed with the support and money raised that more than a few tears were shed so thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. The Wandering Welshman would have absolutely loved last night and we did him proud.
Now for the bad news. Someone has either maliciously outed the venue or attendees have been talking about it being a swingers event in front of the locals so we now have to move to a new venue. The locals were quite vocal about it last night. This means a local business that has been struggling with rising costs is going without a very large revenue from bar drinks.
Anyone who did not attend last night without letting any of us know are now barred from future quiz socials, we have had to say no to people who wanted to attend.

Thanks to the organisers It was a great night for a brilliant cause .I did wonder if the venue had been outed as it seemed to be extremely busier compared to the previous times.Such a shame tho as the venue and bar staff were great ..xx |
