This cold snap has got me thinking about what it was like when I was a child.
Winters seemed colder yet we somehow managed, I can remember waking up and there would be frost on the inside of the window, no double glazing just single pane sash windows that always rattled when the wind blew.
Were we tougher then ? Or just didn’t know any different ?
Nowadays I like my creature comforts, central heating, double glazing, and carpets….. I must be getting old
What do you think ?? |

Every generation thinks they had it worse off than the following one and that's how it should be! There's grafitti in the ruins of Pompeii complaining about 'kids these days' It should be a source of pride to know we're providing a more comfortable life for those that come after us |

"Trudging to school through the snow in your snorkel jacket. Kids won't even step out the door if their dad's car isn't up to temperature now.. haha"
Would often wear two snorkels in the morning. If it was raining and the first one got soaked doing my paper round. |
