STI testing - do you do the throat swab?

When you do your home STI tests, do you do the throat swab, or just the urine/vaginal swab and the blood test? If you're not doing the throat swab, I recommend that you start, as you could be carrying oral chlamydia or gonorrhoea without knowing. |

If you go to clinic it's a basic that the throat swab is taken first, that's always the starting point. It's surprising how many people don't realise that you can get it orally, that's why condoms will not totally protect you. Same with fingering, if you're pleasuring several women in a room & not washing your hands in between, you could be passing around all sorts. People seem totally fixated on fucking but all sexual contact carries risk, just think through the mechanics X |

Hi guys.
For some reason the tests offered by Frisky Wales are sometimes only three (blood,urine and throat).
Sometimes rectal as well. I have both versions here and have just checked.
Saffa also had the vaginal swab but I'm not sure if that's different to the urine one in Males or an additional one again.
I have also heard talk of a penis urethra swab (ouch).. but no idea if this is more treatment than test..
Can anyone clarify?
Seems this isn't as simple as it could be

I've just gone through the order process online and in binary terms there are a maximum of 4 tests for men. 5 for women.
Nothing about a penis urethra swab.
I must have ordered only three tests the first time around as no one comes near my anus lol..(maybe the options change depending on what boxes you tick on the form?) In any event I will be doing 4 from now on just in case. |

The sexual health clinics in the local areas offer all the tests but don't let you know the results. They told me that if I don't hear off them in a month's time then I'm clear when I used them ages ago. My anxiety couldn't take the not knowing haha. I love that Frisky Wales texts you within days with your results. |

You're clearly delusional. Even using a condom for oral does not stop you catching STDs. Regular testing is part of it. |

Alot of clinics do not test for herpes unless you show symptoms. Do Frisky Wales actually test for it?
Having read the literature on how little suppressive-medication reduces viral shedding (sometimes only by 30% or less), I'm seriously thinking of quitting all this due to the risk. |

There are so many people with std/sti that dont test in the vanilla world. Most swingers will test regularly to ensure theyre okay. I've felt safer with swingers than meeting "vanilla" men |

That is very true, I never got myself tested so much since joining fab. It's the vanilla world who believe they are STI free. |

Always do all of them but hate doing the blood ones. Still can't get use to stabbing myself and squeezing the blood into that tube lol.
