In these days of austerity imposed upon us by government, how much more are we going to be asked to give more and take less. Most working people have been ask to show restraint when making requests for pay increases, although most people working in the private sector have seen little or no increase in pay for the last 5 years, yet the cost of living still increases at an alarming rate, domestic fuel bills, water rates, council tax bills, petrol/diesel and even the cost of feeding ourselves. With this in mind I have decided to contact my local council tax deptartment and HMRC and inform them that due to the current economic climate, the fact that the has been no increase in income in my household in real terms for over 4 years that I will only be able pay them 85% of their tax demands for the period Apr 2013 to Apr 2014, do you think they are likely to roll over and take it in the same manner as we are obliged to by law. |

If you are self employed you have a bit of flexibilty but if you are employed and taxed at source you goosed good and proper....  |
