I think I have a nice house and it's decorated to my taste.
Was just wondering, (after looking at some pictures on here) do others (men) who have their own place do the same or is not something that men do?
For instance, many years ago, I visited a male friend and the house looked like it needed decorating.. I asked him about it and he said he couldn't be bothered...
Is this the same for others too or do you like your home to be looking nice? |

I am in rented accom at present but still most guys want to come back to mine or even get a hotel room rather than back to theirs... is it keeping a safe distance or hiding the wife... not sure..... |

Moved house recently after seperation and most definitely in decorating mode - kitchen ordered (8 week leadtime) bedroom building work happening, flooring selected, external painting booked and bathroom works underway - living room colour picked out but waiting for other works to be able to move my stuff around. I guess it is down to the person rather than if male/female - now soft furnishings etc - I do need colleagues help to choose things |

I like to keep my home tidy and I think I have it in a nice state of decoration too. I'm not saying everything is tidied away all the time but end of the day I have to live in the space and I prefer it to be clean, tidy and to look nice than not. Preference i guess! |

Yeah I'm pretty house proud. If I'm going through social media I always think 'ooh, that's a nice floor' or 'nice bathroom'! On here I've seen bedrooms that are disgusting with fags over the cupboards in the background or stained toilets! Zero pride! |

When I was young and single pre marriage decor wasn’t something that particularly bothered me.
Clean and functional was the order of the day, where I lived was never going to be a permanent base and I used it to sleep eat wash and dress basically.
As an older man post marriage and with less of a wild social life than young me did, I appreciate more the value of ‘ my own space’ so put more thought into my home, to have it now I want it.
Lockdown and the now permanent switch to work from home has accelerated that. |

Most dirty pics I see is usually females who got kids. Not blokes. Blokes tend be cleaner especially if single looking get women over. Women just about pack the kids off before a invite. But also the mums that do clean. A minute later the kids got mud through the house again. And then just some just tramps. Smelly. Lazyou. Spend days on phone ignoring kids an cleaning. Some could be poverty in terms decoration |

When I single (male here) I rented a old house from a friend, I kept that house lovely, done the garden, fixed things that needed fixing,I even paid a cleaner to come in once a week, even thou the clearer said she felt she wasn’t needed, my only thing that let me down was ironing, I had a unity room, and would leave the ironing until I bored, but every one I took back to the house remarked how lovely it was, old but loved |

I take pride in my house, just like most women/couples or other men who have children too its a constant cycle of picking up after them when I have them. However I have never been in a situation where I have had to say to anyone " excuse the mess I haven't had a chance " couldn't think of anything worse than my house being untidy |

I’ve my own place , bought it in November and have pretty much been decorating ever since.. inside is done bar some soft furnishings and I’ve just started the outside. Garden getting done now then painting in a few weeks I’m a clean freak, can’t stand it being dirty. |
