I don't understand why a "single bloke" would want to willingly undergo that kind of surgery.

For me the only reason I would want to would would be, if I was in a relationship had children and did not want any more with my current partner or if I wanted to have unprotected sex and not use contraception.

It can be reversed, however asking peoples opinions without giving reasons as to your thinking is like flipping a coin and deciding on heads.

Ultimately it is your body and your decision.

I had never been under the knife, I had heard all the blokey horror stories..balls swelling up like two purple oranges, untold pain, doctors leaving spanners behind..cock dropping off!!...etc etc etc..

Needless to say I was concerned!..but compared to what a woman goes through to have a baby...a few days discomfort is nothing, its the best thing I did.

Have it done on a Friday, you'l be ok for work by Monday, just take things easy...the needle burns a little when the anesthetic goes in and you will feel a bit bruised when it wears off..but I havnt got much of a pain threshold anyway..

Personally I would go for it...but its a personal choice..

And dont take any notice of the horror stories...99% of the ops are fine..

(oh I was joking about the spanners and your cock dropping off by the way!!)

Had it done about 20 years ago, under local anaesthetic. The strangest feeling in the world, when your bollocks are being worked on and it feels like someone is working puppet strings on your insides...lol. I'd DEFINITELY have chosen general anaesthetic instead of local if i'd had my time over again.

Best of luck bud. Rich

hi chunky drop by the shop ill do it for you. lol if your doing it to avoid condoms forget it you'll still need to ware condoms when swinging if its to avoid pregnancy with your regular partner then fine its easy surgery a bit of discomfort whilst your scrote is cut and vas dermis is dis attached weird feeling but no pain so people say some people have it with no anasetic cos there kinky lol but it is personal choice and the discomfort is about the same as a tattoo they can do it in your local gp surgery or gum clinic its realy your choice m8 ....good luck

why do you feel the need to ask what other people think ? only you can decide if you want kids or not and as for having it done so you can play with people you know without condoms and not have the risk of getting someone pregnant *your words not mine* is beyond me i,d be more worried about cathing an std ,its not going to protect you against that

it should only be a decision if you never want kids thats all...playing with others and swinging it would or should make no difference as you should still have to use condoms.. so it should only benefit you in that area if you dontvwant kids and are in a long term relationship..

I have had the snip, my reason was to have no more children with my wife. It's far easier and quicker for a man to get sterilized than a lady. I wouldn't think to ask on a forum whether to have one or not, it's more complicated than that and although reversible it still is a surgical procedure that also requires your doctor to give you the go ahead (unless you go private)

My advice is to think it through and speak to your GP

Jumping to his defense he never actually said why he wanted it done. It was I who speculated as to the reasons, and neither of them make scene, unless A He is in a relationship and does not want any more kids or B He wants to play bareback and not having the risk of unwanted pregnancy, but we get to Nessa's quite valid point of catching STI's / STD's so I go back to my original thinking of why would you want too?

I've had meets tell me they've had the snip, and they've seemed quite disappointed that not only was I not prepared to take their word for it, that I would ALSO not take their word for it that they went to the clinic two weeks ago and they're clean, honest.

Wasnt in chat so have to take other people's word for it that the OP is thinking it will mean bareback meets, but I'm guessing I won't be the only one with similar thoughts to mine. There again, there's plenty of women on here that like to take risks...

we were in chat either but if that was what opwas thinking its going to restrict who would meet thats for sure.. just the fact that the thought was there and mentioned (if it was only as we werent there ourselves) would put big warning sign up as with anyone who did this..

Sure there are people who would meet but alot wouldnt.

I had it done about 9 years ago now and makes life so much easier. Was a painless operation and weirdly I was laughing during it, just make sure you're completely sure about it before rushing ahead. Worst thing was the Fan blowing cold air onto my manhood.

I have had it done. Not for me to question your motives, it was relatively painless, some discomfort afterwards. Though why the Doc used garden shears is beyond me. Also wearing 2 pairs of pants for a few days is odd

As a few have said only you can decide... my husband had it done after i had gone through 2 terrible C-Sections.... It was decided that I had already gone through enough pain ... he was fine and does not regret it.... sex without fear of getting me pregnant ... hahaha... xx
