South Wales Camping Social & Chill
Date: Friday 2nd September 2022 - 4th September.
Location: Llanelli (ish)
I’ve run these before and they’ve always been great fun.
We’ll have exclusive use of the campsite.
Very relaxed there.
There are basic amenities.
Camping field (tent). Be warned it’s on a gentle slope, fits 60 tents
There are limited pitches available for campervans/motorhomes & caravans.
Limited electricity pitches available (now booked)
Glamping pods available (sleeps 4, all have electric) 6 available, just bring your own bedding. (FULLY BOOKED)
Friday night welcome fire pit and BBQ.
Saturday will be a chilled morning.
Saturday afternoon - Pre drinks and field party games and lots more!
Saturday evening - DJ, karaoke & BBQ - followed by chilling around the firepit.
*This is a very basic camping event.
*To have a laugh and enjoy you’ll have to make yourself part of chats and the fun.
*This is a social event for those who enjoy camping.
*Absolutely no playing in public areas!!!!!! Anybody caught doing so will be told to leave.
*Verified only. No exceptions!
*Private messages asking for exceptions will be ignored.
BBQ food will be included in the price.
First come first served! Reserve list will open once all places are filled.
Glamping pods are fully booked
Electric pitches are fully booked but charging facilities and use of electric will be available.
Location will not be given out public.
Address will be given day before event.
Camping price
£26 for a single person
£42 for a couple

Sorry I’ve not been as active lately. I’m now back on track and can devote more time on the event.
Not long now!
Last few camping spaces left (sorry to those that messaged I’ve likely lost messages, please resend).
Weather is looking crap at the moment but we have a month for it to improve. We also have a barn so no wash out will happen.
If you’re thinking about attending, now is your time to get your name down because I will be closing the list 2 weeks before no matter the numbers.

Also, one pod re-available due to now using own caravan. Smaller pod so ideal for just a couple.

Morning campers
This is getting mega close finally!
As of today the barn will be ready to rock for the Saturday evening.
Already sick of seeing gingham and bunting.
Had a few that cannot any longer make it so space has opened for 4 couples, 3 single females and 2 respectful verified single guys.
Remember guys, emphasis on the social event.
I will confirm people on Monday and give any further information needed
Camping/van pitches, no electric plug in but communal electric in place for all your needs with these pitches.
Monday everybody will be send them final update of what’s happening. Had to change things around a lot due to to lack of helpers. But remains to be a fabulous weekend with fabulous people.
Cant wait to see you all!

Morning campers
Well the barn is almost ready for the weekend.
Come rain or shine we’re sorted. Plenty of indoor space to congregate if needed. Hopefully it’s nice enough to be outdoors. But whatever the weather - it’s fine, got it all covered.
Calling back at everybody who offered help to contact me. I’ve lost a lot of messages to go back to
On the day I need help with a few small things and a lot of you lovely lot offered to help.
I just need to stress that this isn’t some big event with a million things to do.
This is just a cheap basic camping social weekend with a party type situation on the Saturday with pound shop party game props and cheap bulk Amazon decorations.
I don’t want people having mega high expectations that 1000s has been spent on decorations and facility upgrades and a massive team behind it, I’ve mostly done everything on my own. Cost was calculated at cost of pitch plus £1 towards this and 50p towards that, 50p per person on diesel for a generator, 14p on something else and so on.
And the cost has risen since first calculated so some cut backs might have to be made, and most had to come out of own pocket.
This is a total pocket pinching camping social weekend for all to enjoy but the main parts are there and extras to make it more than just a field to camp in.
Might change title to ‘Is what it is camping event’ so it’s not over sold
It’s going to be a hoot no matter what.
Anyway - last call for anybody wanting to attend.
Must be well verified.
No electric pitches left but electric will be available for you to use for charging phones and all that.
I have a few things to do today and then I’ll make a start on the up to date rundown of what to expect, rules etc to send to all confirmed guests.
And whilst I remember - does anybody happen to have a megaphone or portable speaker that a microphone can be used with on Saturday? Not really needed but would be very handy to have.

Hopefully I can help once there,got work in the morning so will try, I'm sure nearly every one has a little something to throw in as of games fun things anything, might be able to help with some fuel for gens, just an idea, a box like secret Santa every one chuck something cheap and nasty or fun in,lol, maybe another raffle ??.

Like all social events really, as daunting as it can seem in the build up to first time you attend they’re really nothing to be afraid of. Every social attendee has been in the same boat.
And mostly every social attendee will say the same thing.
‘Don’t know what I was worried about’
Nobody is expecting you to expel confidence from the outset.
Nobody is expecting you to come in and light up the room.
You have nothing to prove.
It’s fine to feel uncomfortable on the outset.
That said the smallest of efforts can bring you the largest of rewards.
A few seconds out of your comfort zone introducing yourself to your neighbour will (mostly) break the ice a little, strike up a conversation and you’re away to go. You’ve already got to know a single/couple.
Mostly all camping events on this site the guests are super friendly.
You’ll likely get invited to join a congregation of people.
Everybody is there to chill and enjoy.
Expect your sides to hurt from laughing - there’s always a camp idiot to enjoy (I’ve been that idiot a few times before anybody says it )
It’s likely nowhere as near as bad as you expect.
You’re not the only single.
You’re not the only newbie.
You won’t be the only nervous person.
This event will be no different to you turning up at any other campsite and making friends with others camping. Only all other campers are there to meet new friends too so it’s miles easier to chat.
If you’re nervous and too afraid to join in - sit by your tent/van, you’ll soon be invited to join or somebody will see you’re alone and change that.
All you need for this weekend is somewhere to sleep and the want to have fun and meet new people.
If you have both, add a camping chair, your favourite tipple and a cowboy hat and you’re sorted |

Heys guys. Again sorry for the delay on the update. I’ve been flat out doing the barn for the last week. All spare time has been going into that. So I can concentrate on just admin next week.
Really starting to take shape now!
Looks almost ready for you lot to come and enjoy.
Last moment thought….
I need a recycling team or teams.
As much as I can shout and scream at people to use bins it will mostly be a waste of time.
So I need a team each morning who are happy to collect cans and bottles.
They can go in together.
Anything non-recyclable separate.
Gloves and a beer provided.
Should only take 30 mins with a team of 2/3.
Who’s going to be a diamond and elect themselves? |

We were lucky enough to see a video of the barn and all the decorations last night from PFC.
I can't say enough about the work and efforts he has put in to making this a really special event.
The venue is beautiful and I am sure that the weekend will be a blast.
I am making a crochet thong for our host to wear with his chaps... What more can we want... The host with the most!!

Tea and coffee.
I’ve been let down of the use of a water/tea urn to put in the barn for morning tea and coffee.
Does anybody have one or can borrow one?
If not I’ll just purchase one.
My plan was to put one in the barn so people can help themselves to tea and coffee.
Bring your own cup. Milk, sugar, tea and coffee provided.
Just throw a few pence in a pot to cover the cost of tea or coffee etc.
This will save everybody boiling a kettle in the morning. |

Numbers are looking fabulous!
But! There’s quite a few that are unable to attend now due to changes etc.
Anyway.
There’s a few spaces left for couples, single females and single males.

Field camping remains.
Don’t have expectations of a meet, mass orgy or anything else. This is a chilled fun social event.

FAQ’s answered quickly.
Had a lot of message about payable things and all that.
So let me explain.
Camping/pod, Cinema night, main night, bbq are all included in the price.
There’s a few that are doing fundraising games on Friday and Saturday for charity.
There’s a raffle.
There’s a cake stall.
Tea/coffee/soft drinks.
Fun quiz daytime Saturday.
All the above by donation to cover costs or donation to charity.
Chuck your change in the pot kinda situation.
As most of you have worked out. Budget for the event was tiny because I made it as affordable as I could. I’ve ended up footed the bill for decorations, activities, other costs etc.
I’m cool with that but won’t be spending anymore of my own money.
Thanks to price rise on everything, most importantly food I should have left a price increase margin to balance but, lesson learned my end.
Breakfast/lunch will now be available by a food van. Budget didn’t stretch to breakfast stuff.
It will be open Saturday 9am - 1pm Sunday 9am - 10:30am
They’re quite reasonably priced.
You’re obviously welcome to cook yourself.
And the rest….
Friday - access.
2pm onwards.
Location - Confirmed guests will only be given the location.
This will be sent on Thursday night.
Toiletries - bring your own.
No shower gels etc provided on site.
Toilet roll - I’ve purchased 48 toilet rolls.
Will they last? No idea.
Bring one to be on the safe side.
Day guests.
Unless you’re camping I won’t be accepting any day guests. Sorry.
I’m a one man band and this will complicate the whole weekend.

Dog walks and walking.
There’s endless walking available around the local area.
When you’re here I’ll point you in the right direction.
Stewards.
There’s security on the gate around the clock. This is standard on the site.
If you’re wanting to collar somebody for help there will always be somebody on the field available to help.
I’m going to give helpers and on site staff a sheriffs badge.
Tea urn - sorted, thanks for the response! You’re all so lovely.
Tea/coffee - bring your own mug.
No plastic cups or disposable items will be offered.
This is to reduce waste on site and reduce items for landfill.
Showers - of course they’re hot.
Shoes!
Ladies, I didn’t realise how important shoes were to you.
Heels - if you’re steady on them on uneven ground and grass. Feel free.
I wouldn’t recommend them and won’t take any responsibility for accidents because of your footwear.
Personally I’d wear something practical for camping.
The barn floor is uneven and not concrete.
Keep this in mind.
Tents - no massive tents please.
Pitches - each pitch is different. More suitable to one type of rig than others so it may not be possible to put two vans or tents together.
There’s a gentle slope in some parts of the field, vans/caravans can be levelled off. Tents cannot be.
Electric/ Cooler boxes.
Ideally you use freezer ice blocks to keep your cool box and contents cool. That or a bag of ice.
If you don’t have electric on your pitch please don’t bring an electric one without ice there is nothing I can do.
Pods - remember. Bring your own bedding.
Including bed sheets.
Cameras/phones. Do not take any photos of people without their permission.
Payments.
No payments on the gate.
No address without payment.
No exceptions.
Don’t question me.
Safety first.
Singles (and couples actually) and those that haven’t attended a social event- don’t be shy, this will be a very inclusive event.
You will not be left sitting on the doorway of your tent. That is unless you want to.
Everybody is super friendly so don’t fear.

Network wise. I have a phone on ee and a mobile internet modem on three and both are 2-5 bars of 4G.
