Howdy folks.

Holly and I just popped down to Chameleons to become members. The website says annual membership is £25 but guy at the door wanted £45. We explained we didn’t want to go in tonight but rather just wanted to join and attend next week. Guy refused to allow us to do so. We said ok please tear up the forms we’ve filled in and we’ll join up on the night. He refused to tear up the forms turned his back on us and walked away. Not the warm welcome that we were led to expect. We were not trying to be difficult and are feeling a little put off. Can anyone perhaps explain if we’ve misunderstood something?

That's a strange one, it's £25 for membership plus £20 per entry. Pass why he would just let you join.

Thanks for clarifying

Yeah most odd, hope he doesn’t get shirty when we turn up again next week. We were on a shopping run and just thought it would be easier to have the paper work done out of the way in readiness.

Yes, sounds like you were being asked for membership and entry.

If you're talking about next Friday, you don't need to be a member if you sign up through the thread for the event.

One of the staff members is hard of hearing, so it's possible you might have been greeted by him and he misunderstood what you were saying (in fact, I'm pretty sure this is what happened).

Its totally normal to sign up on the night of arrival, all the staff are friendly and welcoming... I think this is just a case of bad luck!

I agree it was rather noisy in the bar area with the music quite loud.

The staff are very good in the club and I should imagine it was a case of miss communication. They are so used to people joining up and entry at the same time.
