It might be illegal to touch your mobile phone but as far as I know it’s not illegal to touch your old boy or pussy for that matter!

Anyone do this while driving…

Woody Allen was quoted as saying that Alfa Romeos were the only car you could wank in without taking your hands off the wheel

Please don't, there's enough wankers on the roads as it it. No need to add to them.

It is illegal and you could he prosecuted for a variety of offences just to make it clear.

Driving whilst not in proper control of a motor vehicle.

Driving without due care and attention.

Indecent exposure.

Outraging public deceny.

There is no offence of "Indecent Exposure" in UK law. It was abolished in 2003 when the new offence of just "Exposure" came into effect as part (section 66) of the Sexual Offences Act.

I am well aware of specific legislation and sections. However, the majority of readers are "lay persons" so using the generic term is a more sensible approach.

You can still be arrested by an officer for "Indecent exposure" its just the cps will run in as "exposure" section 66.

So yes you are correct in terms of legislation but it goes without saying any exposure is indecent so yes that is still correct working g to use in any case.

Really? You think that the word "Exposure" isn't understandable by 'lay persons'?

"You can still be arrested by an officer for "Indecent exposure""

You can be arrested for anything the officer doesn't like. The police are very good at retrospectively changing the reason for arrest once they work out what they should have said.

"it goes without saying any exposure is indecent so yes that is still correct working g to use in any case."

Well that bit is just wrong. It is not illegal to be naked in public in Wales, as Stephen Gough (the Naked Rambler) famously proved. So no, exposing one's genitals is not always indecent, and any knowledgable police officer will not use that word.

In any case, as I'm sure you're aware, s66 Exposure states that "A person commits an offence if—

(a)he intentionally exposes his genitals, and

(b)he intends that someone will see them and be caused alarm or distress".

If you're having a wank in a car for your own pleasure, you aren't intending to alarm or distress anyone, so you're not guilty of the offence of Exposure.

Having said that, the 2 motoring offences are accurate, and could land you with points, a fine, and difficulty with insurance in the future. The one to worry about is Outraging Public Decency, because it requires that 2 or more people be able to see you, but it doesn't require them to have done so. This means that if a police officer is checking old traffic cam footage and they spot you, you can be found guilty of Outraging Public Decency even though no one saw you doing it.

Don't do it. Although the insurance report into the accident would make for interesting reading- so what were you doing at the time of the collision

I am well aware of the offences thank you. Exposure on the indecent sense I mean. Otherwise, how would you be a nudist?

So yes you are correct but took it far to literal.
