Grangetown

I'm heading to New Quay this friday for a weekend on the hills, could anyone recommend a nice restaurant in or around the area? TIA

I lived there for a few years and would recommend

Sunny day child friendly: Black Lion

for amazing views & beer garden / pub grub is OK sunday lunch is a bargain (just down hill from Costcuttor & carpark, past Seahorse pub)

Evening meal: Cambrian Hotel (opp quay west),

Best all round grub, value and service.

Fancy lunch (pricey): pepper pot, down from Black Lion on other side I think?

Seafront (if already there and you cant be arsed to climb the hill): Hotel Penwig / Bluebell?

All above are in new quay.

Aberaeron is 30mins drive from new quay but if you do go there, I agree with the other guys on recommendations above.

Just, personally, there is an absolutely STUNNING hotel about 10mins out called 'Ty Glyn'.

You'd have to call and pre-book and possibly pre-order.

Everything on the menu is hand-picked from surrounding farms, finest quality organic, seasonal and cooked to perfection.

Ive tried for 15years and I've yet to find a steak that comes close!

Another level completely.

Its a 2/3 miles out of aberaeron on the Lampeter road. Past Llanachaeron,

just before Ciliau Aeron down a country lane.on the left hand side.

Hope this helps mate
