"Does anyone meet this way?"

It can be quiet out here, but there are good people around, just stay patient.

Typical small town mentality out here - everyone knows everyone else or at least someone who knows someone else - it’s a shame as there are plenty on here from The Shire.

We’re all here with the same intentions so they need to loosen up and enjoy fab fully.

Unfortunately a lot say they won’t tell but some big headed male starts telling his mate ‘ I fucked her the other night’ or ‘ or see them they go digging’ etc especially when the other party doesn’t want to meet again.

Trust hey!!

"Does anyone meet this way?"

What if some of us took the plunge and organised a social?

This has been muted in the past but never seems to come to fruition.

What advice would you have for the practicalities of such a thing?

There'd be plenty of quiet out-of-the-way pubs and hotel bars to choose from as a gathering location. Hopefully good for a little privacy for those with nerves.

People do, but as we all know last 18months has been different, many in the area are still Cautious

There was a social before it all being held in Carmarthen, i went to a few, and many locals would turn up, never once i was made to feel uncomfortable or out of place, even tho i knew people there

Carmarthen was a good social which gained in popularity but looks like henrybtge host might not have survived the virus

West Wales and Cardiff

Yeah, The Carmarthen one was well suppoeted the twice I went, so it can be done.

Rural areas are always a bit quiet, and you see similar comments from all over the UK on Fab.

I think what’s a bit different is that Carmarthen draws people in from the surrounding areas to events and nights out. When I grew up in North Pembs, we’d go to the other towns for a night out, travelling quite a distance. I don’t get the sense that happens as much in West Wales.

Reasons - people drink and party more at home, relatively few younger folk living here now and an ageing population, maybe?

Carmarthen shows it’s possible though.
