I would get off at the airport culver house cross round about and go that way personally. When I head back home from your way it always sends me off that way

Off at Junc 33, to Culver turn off. Straight over roundabout, through Wenvoe, top road through Barry. Keep straight through all roundabouts, past the airport. Keep going til you get to the lights for Llantwit.

It's a pretty straight route, well sign posted and decent roads for your vehicle

I know Llantwit Major very well having some business interests there. From Ystrad Mynach definitely junction 33, and past the airport till you get to Llantwit. However some of the streets in old Llantwit itself are very tight to negotiate especially with a sixteen seater. If you are heading for Llantwit beach, it is narrow with passing places but you should be okay.
