Trust me, we have all been nervous newbies, but if you just sit in the corner and quietly drink the night away, then your chances to network will be limited.
Come say hi, you'll find that we aren't a bad bunch, and soon you'll lose the nerves and wonder why you didn't take the plunge sooner lol!  |

Couldn't agree more that's why it's called a social  
All you need to do is introduce yourself to one couple/ person and say we are new can you introduce us to people (i'm lazy ) 
As long as people understand that it is a social and they are there to drink and meet people not a shagathon. Everything should be good. If you don't put in, you can expect to get nothing out of it.
Anyway just enjoy the evening |

We went to our first Cardiff social almost a year ago, we were nervous as hell, but went round and introduced ourselves to those we recognised off the cams and others we didn't. We still do to all the new ones and although we are still a bit nervous, pluck up the courage.

C certainly has no intention of sitting around .... he loves introducing himself to people ... I like the fact that he so easily talks to poeple
It is my first social, so my nerves are already building, but I will be there smiling.... hopefully see you there xxx |

Our first Cardiff social too having been to our first Swansea one last month. That was nerve wracking too, stood at the bar for ages then got chatting to someone at the bar and joined their table. Turned into a 'fab' night in the end. Think we will still be shy too ourselves but maybe a few drinks will change that! |

We are Callom & Isobel, mi'lady posted earlier and i thought id add my bit....she is quite right that i have no intention of sitting around, more often thats actually due to.nerves....when i get nervous i literally jump in feet first.....sink or swim time as they say. We will either be at the bar, talking to all your fab couples or depending on the cheesiness of the music....shaking our collective asses on the dancefloor....please feel free to say hello and have a chat to us.

Hi all we feel a bit naive here ... Noticed people talking about organised socials in Cardiff and Swansea ... Is this just a bunch of people off here getting together on a night on the town or do people book places? Lol I sound so stupid! |

The Socials are organised meets for anyone on fab, you see them advertised in the forums, and send your names in to the organisers who put your name on the list, and then send out details of the venue etc.
Smaller "ad-hoc" gatherings do happen, where a few friends meet up for a night out, but these are organised by those who are attending, and aren't opened up to everyone.... otherwise that would be a huge crowd on a pub crawl lol!! |

Well that's brilliant thanks. Been looking at locally what's organised and I guess we only presumed there was chams in Newport or Ian and Julia in Swansea ... We need to get more organised lol |
