chams couples only nights

Hi all
We have been asked to post this on the forums.
From 6th October Chams in Newport is going to be a couples only on Saturday night's
This is a 3 month trial and if successful will be made a permanent thing.
Hopefully we will see lots of you there

So it will be even quieter! Last time we were there on a Saturday there were only around 10 couples and 4 single guys attending. So couples only wouldn't have made much of a difference that night!

When I first saw this I thought "Yay!".
We like Chams, but sometimes the behaviour of some (not all, but most lol!) single guys was quite off-putting.
However... does this mean no single ladies too?
Anyway, we will have to check it out and see what its like!  |

But many are anti single guys at clubs and it's about time that section of the swinging community were given a night.
Almost all successful clubs have a cpls only night.
There's a good chance there'll be more cpls there because there aren't going to be single guys there. Well done |

Totally agree about not all couples being anti single men but I know the owners have had a lot of couples complaining about the amount of single men and apparently it's been putting people off going there (not us)
Darleston Chams is couples only on a Saturday night and I believe it's very popular.
Mart, not sure about single fems, if we go next week we will ask unless someone else comes along who can let us know |

sounds good to us last time we were there was in october tho this was a friday at 10 oclock there were 15 cples and 25 single guys and 3 single fems. By 12.30 as we were leaving there was 8 cples 25 single guys and 3 single fems left. The other cples that left after chatting on here left for the same reason we did everyhere we went it was like the conger us followed by a trail of single blokes.
We go to chams mainley to meet cples and bi fems but we will play with single guys if i ( fire ) likes them and is in the mood too and i personaly get aggitated and put off when followed all over the place by single guys.
Everbody is different and there are cples who like single males and we respect that.
maybe chams should hold a regular greedy girls night once a month like angels in melksham ( theres 1 tonight for all those interested lol ) then the single guys and the ladies involved can have a damn good blow out pmsl,

always wondered why there aint a couples night, an also think its a good idea if the bands you wear on the wrist can be colour coded if you bi or straight? say pink = bi, blue = straight, at least that way theres no embarrassing moments |

Personally, we go to Chams BECAUSE of the amount of single guys, i love them!!
We have stopped going to clubs that state they have 'pre-selected single males'. I want a choice of lots of guys, not a small group of guys who think they are special because they are pre-selected.
While i understand some couples aren't interested in single guys, the list of clubs where a woman has free reign to play with who and how many she wants is reducing!
If there is to be a couples only night, please let that be the night that is used for special nights and one off nights. Couples will be able to choose when they go, single guys will only have the option of Friday, and it won't be fair if that gets moved about. |

We think the issue is not about single v couples. In all honesty, the times we have been the place has been smelly and not very clean. Also, there are a lot of good quality clubs out there so the competition is large.
It's difficult, because it switches from a gay club to a swingers club within a short time so this might impact on why it is not very often looking clean and tidy. Our personal view of course . |

Please can I say, I am no way connected to Chams at all, I was just asked by staff last night if I could mention this on the forums and that's what I have done...please don't slate me...
I know they have had a lot of complaints about single men recently from couples and you only got to look at the reviews to see people complaining so at a guess they are trying to reach a compromise and bring things in line wih darleston...not everyone is going to be happy though...
It's up to each individual couple how this pans out, if your not happy about this then stay away on a Saturday and if this was something that you wanted then make the most of it and prove that it can work...I'm guessing Chams have nothing to loose by doing this as they have been getting quieter and quieter on Saturdays, and more single men than couples.
Personally we will mix it up a bit between Friday's and Saturday's but not everyone has this luxury...
Oh, and Newport_girl aka lala...you should have no problem doing that hun lol  |

its been mentioned that chams in darlaston has a cples only night which is true-but unlike newport which is only open 2 nights a week they are open every night and most of the day

Couldn't agree more. Perhaps if the management improved facilities more would attend. They could also limit the number of single guys that would be allowed in, maybe by making them book in advance and paying their entrance fee up front so that they are more likely to turn up. We all know how reliable single guys can be!
They could also do with with reducing the chlorine levels in the hot tub! Takes us at least two showers to get rid of the smell! |

It's amazing to think that a country the size of Wales doesn't have a decent club.
Yes the regulars can say its great but compared to xtasia, the f club or arousal to name a few, it's crap.
Almost all successful clubs are either affiliated to a major swingers site like SDC or at least have club nights.
Huge praise has to be given to those trying to make the club better. Good luck x |

We went about 7mth ago there were about 12 single men and 3 couples, the men following you everywhere like dogs on heat lol, this was on a saturday, put us off totally and havnt been back since, so we welcome a couples only night! |

Thought swinging was about swapping partners etc so we think it's good there having couples night's it's about time as there were to many single guys rushing around like pervs in whore house as for single women at least a lot are bi so that play with both sexes our opinion of course |

Heres a few ideas, the glory hole? the whole point of a glory hole is so that you cant see who is on the other side, what is the point of going into a cubicle if all the guys are waiting in the room and you got to walk past them all to go in there? surely something like a diferent entrance to enter and when you do go in a red light comes on so guys on the other side know its occupied but dont know by who? more exciting less embarrassing for newbies. How many times have couples been there and glanced around but scared to make a move? the bed with the window where you can watch, nice dark area and an oppurtunity to stand next to other couples or guys getting touched up (all about breaking the ice here) but if no ones in the room then u look silly just standing there so why not put a tv there
that way theres an excsuse for being there. I could go on but to us its nearly there in some things and miles away in others and can be frustrating |

We like playing with single guys when we go to Chams, have been Friday and Saturday nights and Friday is always the busier, with Saturday nights having more single guys than couples there. We welcome this new format, though can see 1 of 2 things happening because of it:
1) Single guys will see Friday nights as their only chance to go to Chams and will pack the place out, causing more couples to be put off going Friday nights, turning it into the new Saturday night. Or
2) People will go on the nights where they feel they want couples attention or attention from guys too, and hopefully leave having a good experience.
You can't please everyone, want to make an omelette you have to break a few eggs, and the place needed to make some changes.
I agree fully that it's not far away from being a really great club, totally agree about the glory hole thing (the separate entrance would be great), but really appreciate that the management and staff are trying to make it a better place, we've all just got to give them time to implement their ideas, give them time to work and go from there. We support them totally. |

It's the same as cpls nights as all the popular clubs do. Single females attract couples, single men put cpls off so the logic is easy.
Really can't understand the fuss because single men are stil allowed on Fridays. All this is doing is catering for another part of the swinging market.

If they want to go that much they'd make themselves available. It's just the same the we have to travel to Bristol, Birmingham or London etc to go to a cpls night. We all have to put a little effort in |

We have been a few times and enjoyed ourselves; although it's a bit dated and sometimes very dark in the play rooms. I think holding a couples night say the 1st & 3rd sat and anyone the 2nd & 4th Sat.
A big spinny roundy bed like they have in Darleston would also be a good addition to the club.
We do tend to travel to Darleston simply because it is more modern and there are more people. Singles must leave by 7.30 on a sat, so if you want a single man get there early afternoon. Mind you i hate the 2 hour+ drive home at half 2 in the morning  |

I think sometimes people forget why they go to a swinging club and look for a plush designer bar where they can compare stories about how successful they are and look at the labels I'm wearing!! Pre selected males, shirt and tie etc... If that's your thing, fine. Go to clubs that cater for that rather than complain about ones that don't!
I personally love Chams because it its exactly what it is. Every time I have been I have met great people, had great fun and had a good laugh.
Ok, its not perfect, but nothing is. No club will ever meet everyones goals.
I can understand couples wanting their own night - while it may not suit me, it may encourage nervous people to venture in and test the water before they try out the guys on a Friday night. |

its going to happen so just relax and enjoy it its only for a 3 month trial so dont knock it just yet.sat nights have been really quiet up there so they had to try something out and they were asked for cpls only nights if you want to try different nights out get in touch with them and put your views forward |

all that is needed is like some of the clubs out in Cap d agde is that one of the floors (top floor in Chams) is a couples only floor and NO single guys are allowed. This means however that if the female is playing with a male then the females husband / partner is also not allowed in the couples floor.
then everyone gets to enjoy the rest of the venue. |

Sorry if my above post sounds harsh. It's honestly not ment to be but it's very frustrating the current charms crowd won't give this a chance even though the club is failing and seen as the pits with the swinging community.
The complaints and negative comments about the place just grow and grow but you want to leave it as it is. The place will end up closing. |

Unfortunately who you ask will give their opinion only - and that may be the complete opposite to yours in reality.
I could tell you that i love the place, but that would purely be my opinion and i would never say the people who would tell you its horrible are wrong as that is their opinion.

If you apply for a couple membership it will cost you 20 to get it and membership fee which is between 15 and 25, can't remember exactly...if u go as single u will pay however much for you to get in and 5 for single fem, no membership fee, you need to weigh it up, probably only pay a couples membership if it will be a regular thing... |

Never been to Newport, being followed by single men has put us off along with cleanliness reports. We are only interested in other couples so this night would suit us much better, may have to try it out now. |

There's a dam site more couples interested in bi females than there is couples looking for men.
You can pick a man up on a night out in any city or town so why do you need 2 nights at charms?
And a reply saying you can pick up a bi fem in the same way will really show an ignorance to people knowledge of the swinging scene. Let the bi fems have a chance for a change.
Even bi men have an option to use charms during the day. It's the largest section of the swinging community being left out as it stands and that's just mad. |

as an alternitive!! maybe a coupes only area within chams newport.. i know there is a couples only room but maybe expanding the area.. say from where the couples room is, to include the shower area and the four rooms round the corner, there fore a happy medium can be found!! we are not anti or pro single men but we prefer the cpls and bi fems.. but maybe a bigger area for cpls only may help if the couples only night doesnt pan out!!

Why no other club does this we don't get the issue other clubs couples only so what's the problem what's wrong with the Welsh do they not want change and things to stay as crap as they are without giving something a try |

i am not saying that the couples night only is a bad thing!! we think its great!! btu am just saying if it doesnt work rather than go back to having two mixed nights!! have a bigger area for couples thee fore this may keep all parties happy lolol..

We're the same as we're both straight, other couples do assume that the fem is gonna be bi or curious, so had to turn down a few. That doesn't mean we don't like the idea of a couples night though, as we do do straight swap, and glad to see that the Chams management are trying to get back some of the custom they've lost.
Think we've all just got to give it a chance, see how it pans out then go from there, especially if we want it to stay open and be as busy as it used to be. |

You.can, however they still have to pay an entrance fee, so in the case of a single fem it's 5 pounds...she may as well get her own membership for free |

I have never been to Chams but surely as the recession takes a bigger grip the income from single guys is more than needed. If single guys are barred from Sat nights, for the benefit of couples, then sure as the bailiff knocks the door, the few couples who want this can expect no club at all to go to. Coloured bands denoting preference of swing or couples only rooms is the only way forward, Happy swinging. Peeps |

So much for those who said it would be dead. Over 30 couples attended which is a great turn out for the 1st night. Only goes to show there is a need for a cpls/fems night x |

We use to go when it was open both nights , fridays seemed to be the wild night where cpls guys and girls went, every one had fun, and saturdays was for cpls only and was a little laid back but loads fo cpls and a good night for the newbies to try wilst not intimadated but single guys lol |

It cant hurt to give it a go just might be good, but if it does'nt work cant see them having a club empty on a saturday night, rumours just might be true " if it fails they might close the whole Chams npt all together, then we will all be moaning,then for us lucky enough to have a club close to go to, we will have to travel to have some fun lol. |

The couples night stopped over a year ago as hardly anyone attended unfortunately.
I can't imagine they will start again as they seem to be having the same trouble on a Friday night now, some nights they are busy and others they are empty.
Chams Newport is also the greenhouse, a popular venue for gay or bi men on weekdays and I think (correct me if I'm wrong someone) it's Saturdays too now |

Glad that they are opening on a Saturday night Spain cos due to work can't do a Friday. Missed taking Mrs snap there looking forward to going again now! As for singles at the mo a Friday is for guys too can't see a problem with sat being cpls only as it does mean all people are catered for personally we don't mind either way but hopefully the couples who want to go just on a couples night will support the club and keep it going |

"So it will be even quieter! Last time we were there on a Saturday there were only around 10 couples and 4 single guys attending. So couples only wouldn't have made much of a difference that night!
Not all couples are anti single guys!"
And not all nights are Saturdays. |
