Welsh sport - devolution time?

Delighted to see the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom showing much support for his nation ahead of the final by dressing Downing Street up with English Flag bunting.

Shame the feckwhit doesn't show the same level of support for Welsh sport, even though Wales is part of the United Kingdom.

Where was the Downing Street Welsh flag bunting before or after the 6 Nations?

What a shower of shit.

Now I do know that Wales is not perfect, but surely, this is another reason for devolution now!

Yep, really.

Wales, population 3.25 million approx.

Isle of Man, population 85,000 approx

Andorra, population 77,000 approx

Faroe Islands, population 48,000 approx.

Wales, population in excess of 3 million. Recent history of having a national bank which could issue legal tender, still represented on UK coins. Wales can make its own laws over certain things including social distancing and face masks and freedom days.

Wales, the land of Celts. Maybe it's time we started to open discussions with the Bretagne, the Basque, the French, the German, about welcoming our Japanese Toyota friends who have helped to stage the WRC.

England contains 80% of the UK population. Wales less than 5%… perhaps a reality check is needed? I for one am Welsh and proud, but not stupid to think Wales would survive or thrive as a completely separate nation. Scotland have huge natural resources such as oil and gas. Don’t really see why you’re getting your knickers in a twist over it tbh.

Huge natural resources? Have you seen the windfarms off the north of the north wales coast?

For decades, natural gas has been landed from Morecambe Bay to Talacre, to the gas fired power station in Deeside (North Wales and very much in the Welsh side of the border)

So, how come the British Englanders are now planning to pump waste CO2 into the bedrock from which the natural gas came?

What you have to think about apart from devolution is that there is an English cyclist breaking records that had stood for decades but the news only talks about football, they are so preoccupied to recognise success when it's in front of they're noses!!

Deluded I am afraid. Just my opinion. Proud Welshman and a proud Brit. Much more fun reading stories and fantasies. Maybe that's where this thread should be?

Think you will find more and more deluded Welsh people want devolution. Yes Cymru membership has grown significantly during Covid and if the past 18 months or so has taught us just one thing it is that anything is possible

Well I am one of those deluded Yes Cymru members who wants independence. Independence is normal. Look around the world, it isn't some crazy idea cooked up by a few Welsh lunatics.

Anyway, Boris will jump on any bandwagon that he thinks will gain him and his party popularity and votes. He doesn't give a fuck about the football really.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realise. Is Bradley Biggins doing the Aple d'Huez thing again? - Yes I do know how steep and long it is! I have been there.
