"Any metal heads here? As in someone that enjoys listening to metal music
Heavier the better for me
Xxx "
My tastes range from Classic rock all the way through to hardcore thrash… becoming a regular festival goer (Steelhouse next month… Yay!) and usually do 4 or 5 gigs a year on top of Download etc.

I’ve been a metalhead pretty much all my life - well, since the mid-80s anyway. I particularly love symphonic metal and industrial, but mostly just like anything melodic/clean vocals and headbangable. |

I stumbled onto some symphonic stuff and now play a lot of Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica. |

You do need to stumble on it - or have it recommended - because you’ll rarely hear about it in mainstream metal circles. But it’s a bit of a rabbit-hole when you do and it always seems to lead to more and more bands! |

Steelhouse for me too… Particularly looking forward to Europe (a lot more bluesy than Final Countdown days) and Those Damn Crows |

Much prefer a clean vocal… it’s why I’ve never really got into Slipknot |

Theres a lot more to slipknot than the rough vocals. Corey Taylor has a great voice. |

I love the modern Europe (ok I loved them back in the day too!), seen them a few times and they’re always great. |

I can live with *some* harsh vocals, preferably if it’s not the main vocal - quite a lot of the bands I like have a clean female lead singer and a harsh male secondary vocalist. But it sort of needs to be in small doses! But it gets tiring on the ears if there’s too much of it. |

I’m really not a metalhead in the slightest. I admire some of the musicians and I love the passion its fans have for that music though. The spirit of togetherness they have.
I used to love seeing them all out in Cardiff when Septic Velociraptor, or some other band, rolled up to play in town. One of the last tribes (with plenty of misfits in, which is a massive compliment!).
Good tribes are good things. |

Absolute metal head here. I used to love fucking to Metallica's Black album, or some AC/DC or DIO. Remembering The Normadie in Bangor brings back great memories of good music, good friends and great fucking. Nights out in the Normandy and Bangor led me to my first MFM threesome at 20 with an older married couple, same room fun with my girlfriend, her friend and her boyfriend and Out door fun up Bangor mountain or down by the pier on the way back home after a night out. Best times, fondly remembered, lived in Bangor between 1988 and 1994. |

I was there too. Iron Maiden and Skid Row if I recall correctly. Brilliant weekend and a great show by Maiden. |

Skinfkuck and a brilliant local fanzine. Vaffan Culo were very active along with some metal bands who sang in Welsh, but the Welsh bands were more indie if I recall correctly. |

Bargoed-ish. |
I used to be in a metal / punk crossover band when I was 17. We used to frequent a punk club in Cardiff called The Venue. It was a tiny place that had some great bands on.
We were all there to see Napalm Death / Extreme Noise Terror and a few others one night. But due to the time, the 1st band didn't show up. So that's how my band ended up playing on the same bill as ND & ENT. They were still sort of underground bands back in 1988. |

1988 MOR was my 1st rock festival. You was able to pay on the gate then, hence the big crowds. |

Yes, 107,000 that year wasn't it ? Or thereabouts. I've heard estimates that go from 105,000 - 110,000.
It was a fantastic lineup that year too. I had no idea about the 2 guys who got crushed until I got home. No cellphones back then either so my folks were frantic until I walked through the door, covered in mud up to my knees, haha ! I was only 17 that year. |

Metal in the blood since early 80s..collection of teeshirts and cds and cassettes and records now taking up a room..luckily my very understanding wife loves a lot of my tastes in music so its all good.. from classical to Black metal and every genre in between is the easiest way to explain my tastes. on the turn table this week..homage to ZZ Top and Slipknot..and Metal Church.. along with a copious amount of Icelandic Solstafir.. Rock on metal heads... Hellfest next year again for the 15th time if it takes place.. %$$@ you Covid once again.. |

Shame about Joey jordisans death recently, by far one of the best drummers around... Slipknot have really taken a bad blow recently... Love slipknot, but spend my days chilling to Nirvana more than anything... KoRn are awesome as well though.... |
