I’ve booked day rooms at a couple of Cardiff area hotels pre-covid, anything in particular you’d like to know? I don’t know any in the Swansea area I’m afraid.

I don't mind you booking the big van for a mobile session. We can do pick ups at bus stations.

Hold out your fab lolly for a pick up.

With Village, I think it's a huge part of the business model, and they welcome us.

As everyone else has said, the Village at Coryton isn’t bothered at all. I did feel awkward the first time I checked in, especially as my booking had been lost, but I got used to waltzing up to reception as if it’s the most normal thing in the world to be checking into a hotel at 10am in a very long coat to hide my outfit!

They put all the day rooms on one floor usually, presumably so the noises don’t bother the less naughty guests, and that’s really convenient as well because it means only walking up one flight of stairs. And anyone arriving to the room after you’ve checked in just has to walk past reception as if they belong there and straight up the stairs, no key card to get to the rooms so it’s really straightforward. The only issue there now is that they charge for parking after (I think) four hours.

"How does it work please do you have to pay extra for ppl coming or do you just pay room price "

You book via a separate website, not direct with the hotel, and then pay the room price when you check in. There’s no additional charge for extra people. But they’ll only put enough towels for one person which is a pain!

I wonder if that works in Cardiff.

The only downside to the Village is the slightly awkward wait at reception while they check you in. Worth it though...

They seem to be available now, you could try the app someone else mentioned (I haven’t used it myself so can’t comment on it), or google day rooms as I can’t post links.

So, from reading this when I get a day room I need.

-Extra Towels because you only get 1

-Big sunglasses to hide identity.

Got it.

Where do I book?

Thank you hun! Will have a look now.

What's the difference between the two sites? Is one more reliable? x

I haven’t used the day use one yet, I’d forgotten the name of the other one I’ve used though (it’s been so long!). Just checked and day break hotels will find it. I’d say they’re both about the same in reliability, but they might have different hotels; and the day break one often has offers as well.

I like to do the booking too, I enjoy chilling out in the room afterwards if the other person has to leave earlier than me.

Ive booked pleny of Day rooms in Cardiff at the Novotel and have always been able to get extra towels. Also been able to use the spa pool and steam and sauna rooms while there for that extra bit of fun.

Jersey / Swansea

I have used day rooms Cardiff and Swansea, when I book I say I am traveling down overnight and just need to sleep in day for a bit so a quiet room would be appreciated.

I have had a pleasant response from staff very helpful.

Ha that's my tactic. But instead of finishing myself off I'm more likely to take eat chocolate and take a nap

Just remembered, last day room I booked in the Village had towels for two people so you might be alright. Maybe say the room is for 2 people when you book? It's the same price.

Interesting, I’ve never had towels for two even when I’ve said it’s for two, just the one bath and one hand towel. Maybe it depends who makes up the room.
